This scholarship is for residents of privately owned federally assisted low income housing properties (Section 8, low income housing tax credits, etc.) or recipients of Section 8 voucher rent assistance who demonstrate both merit and need. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be graduating high school seniors or students enrolled in (or applied to) an accredited/certified training program. Applicants must be US citizens or legal permanent residents with a valid social security number, be accepted for full- or part-time programs with a minimum class schedule of three classes, and demonstrate sound community leadership through volunteer work at school or in the community. Applicants may only apply for one scholarship offered by the NLHA Education Fund per application cycle.
