Merit Scholarship
- Scholarship Description
- As long as specified requirements are met, Austin College scholarships awarded to freshmen are renewed on an annual basis, for a maximum of eight semesters; those awarded to transfer students are renewed on a semesterly basis for the number of semesters necessary for a student to graduate succeeding in a normal course load (3 to 4 courses per semester). In accordance with NCAA guidelines, Austin College, as a member school of the NCAA Division III, does not award athletic scholarships. According to NCAA guidelines, students who wish to participate in an intercollegiate sport may not be awarded a merit scholarship unless they meet one of the following criteria: o 3.50 grade point average, o rank in the top 20 percent of their graduating class, or o score a minimum of 1140 on the SAT (CR+M) or 25 on the ACT.
