In my first year at Tulane, I learned so much; not only in the classroom, but outside of it as well. At a school where almost 70% of the students are from outside of Louisiana, I had no problem meeting many diverse people, (culturally and geographically)! The friends I have made are from all over, including Boston, Hartford, Dallas, and even Sao Paolo, Brazil. At a school with a very high Jewish population, I was exposed to a religion that, living in Minnesota, I had very little exposure to. Meeting and getting to know people from all over the country...

A great school with lots of money. There is always something to get involved in and you will enjoy your time. The only set back is your own money.

A social, explorative research based institution in which cross-school study is encouraged and independent studies are the norm. Tulane is a highly competitive, individualized school with lots of type-a people. However, the unique emphasis on social life at this school makes friendship and relationships a central part of life on campus.

This is a school with incredible opportunities if you are ready and willing to take advantage of them. Quality and style vary widely among professors and departments, but overall academics are very strong. The Tulane experience is like no other.

The city of New Orleans is crucial to the learning environment that Tulane fosters through specific local topics, service learning and community service opportunities, social life, and culture. While some of the on-campus food isn't fantastic, the food court in the student center is great both for food and studying, and there are plenty of amazing local off-campus options. Tulane has a great social life, but I would recommend trying new things and asserting yourself in anything you find interesting.

My brother goes here and it is very high on my prospective list. Love that it is right in the middle of the city. Campus is laid back but not necessarily beautiful

tulane is, in the words of the admissions officer, for those who wish to work hard as well as play hard (not party hard). students are very active and its great for those who don't want to succumb to being just one thing.
