The dorms can leave something to be desired--but in their defense, they've seen their share of disaster. …
The RAs are very friendly and helpful; they genuinely want to help their residents achieve their most successful and enjoyable year at Tulane. The accommodations are what you expect, average-sized…
i lived in butler my freshman year. a lot of the people that were placed there without choosing it were worried (because it's known as the quiet honors dorm), but…
The dorms are pretty run of the mill and functional. The best Freshman are Wall and Greenbaum, with Patterson coming second. The best Sophomore is Soho. The best upperclassman is…
Dorm life is great. There are lots of options to choose from and the housing department is good at placing you with someone you'll get along with.…
the cafeteria is great and new orleans in general has good food
Read MoreBruff is the name of the dining hall. It is very repetitive and not the best quality of food. The redeeming features of Bruff include the pasta bar, omelet bar, carving station, and anything for breakfast. The salad/sandwich bar is disappointing and the daily dinners are very hit or miss. Lots of under cooked or over cooked food as well.
Read MoreThe on-campus dining hall/cafeteria, Bruff, is fine but not great. They try to have lots of options, but it's hard to provide high quality food prepared for thousands of students. After a while it gets old, and you have to branch out. The food court in the student center has food options like sushi, Panera, Freshens, and more. This option is very popular. Of course New Orleans as a city is also known for its delicious food, so the options off-campus are seemingly endless.
Read Morelots of options all over from the campus food services to restaurants across the city
Read MoreBruff was surprisingly good to be honest. And they have a slushie machine. What more you could you want? On a serious note, there's several options on campus other than Bruff, and the meal plan isn't *just* for Bruff either. And if you still can't find anything, well, you're in New Orleans. C'mon. Go try the Croissant D'Or in the French Quarter or something.
Read Moreit's new orleans!!!
Read Morethere's a lot of options! bruff, the dining hall, has hamburgers, pizza, sandwiches, salads, etc. daily as well as different options daily. the lbc has a food court, which has a lot of options and might be a little bit of the reason why i chose tulane, oops. you can also get food at loyola, and your meal plan comes with a little bit of money to spend at off campus restaurants or order in.
Read Morea ton of food and dining choices. the school is partnered with a few neighborhood eateries to provide deals with the students.
Read Morebruff is not good or bad, but you will get sick of it quickly. loyola's dining hall is also open to tulane students, and has a decent vegetarian bar, but is otherwise very similar to bruff. the lbc has some nice options for lunch, but requires wavebucks or actual money. the food truck on campus is a good option for when its beautiful outside and you want to sit in pocket park or one of the many quads around campus. also bruff-to-go has really good made-to-order pasta at dinner time, which is great when you don't want to go to regular bruff (just don't lose your tokens!). on-campus dining is just ok, so you really have to go off campus to get great food.
Read MoreYou can access Loyola's cafeteria, which is amazing. Bruff, our dining hall, has lots of options but is lacking in taste. You'll probably eat french fries or salad most nights. Food court is kind of expensive, but has basic options. City Diner is the best late night place; try the cheese sticks.
Read MoreGreek's a lot more laid back here than other schools because of the northerners. Apparently, Greek isn't as big in the North. Or something. Anyway, the important thing is that rush is actually in the Spring semester.
Read Moreeasy to get involved with and not extremely exclusive. as someone not in greek life, i can still go to frat parties and have many friends in sororities/frats. only about 30% of students are in greek life, so you won't have issues finding people not in it if that's not your scene.
Read MoreFun! Even if you're not a part, you'll end up at a bunch of their parties.
Read MoreNot for me, so I can't really comment.
Read MoreIt does exist for those who are interested, but there are NO living accomodations in greek house in New Orleans.
Read MoreGreek life is a huge part of Tulane.
