How's the weather? For those majoring in atmospheric sciences and meteorology, this isn't just small talk - it's what daily life revolves around. Upon graduating, most students will be able to understand and predict long-term climate changes as well as short-term weather processes.

The degree focuses on the study of the behavior and composition of the earth's atmosphere and how this influences our weather. The program provides detailed instruction in climatology, atmospheric physics and chemistry, weather simulation, and climate modeling. Courses also include anything related to storms, clouds, weather systems, and precipitation patterns.   

An atmospheric sciences and meteorology major gives you the ability to choose from numerous career options. Once you've graduated, you will be able to find employment as a conservational scientist, postsecondary teacher, environmental scientist, or meteorologist.
