Queens definitely does not get the rep for being an amazing school because it is part of the CUNY system... but believe me, you will not be disappointed in the quality of education here. Being a second generation Queens College student, I've only completed one semester but the rigor of the classes I took definitely showed the quality of Queens. Some classes are obviously easier than others, but the quality of material that the teachers present are definitely up to par even with other top Ivy schools. Read MoreSo far in my first semester at Queens College I found most classes to be challenging, but very informative and educational. The professors are pretty good here and even though some may be particularly difficult, it will be worth it at the end when you actually learn something from that class. The campus is well kept and most of the people and staff are polite. The security guards at the library were rude to me a few times for no good reason. Its also difficult to to make friends here.

Read MoreQueens College has a beautiful campus: the ups to that is that it is beautiful during spring, summer and fall and you can take lovely walks; the downs, however, are that you have to walk a lot, which can be hard in the winter. There are small, interactive classes as well as large lectures, whichever suits you. And people there are really nice- they hold out the door for you!
Read MoreQueens College provides students with a great education for an affordable price; the professors are very knowledgeable and willing to help you further your studies. However, because it is a commuter school, the school doesn't provide students with the typical college experience, even with the on-campus dorms. If you are a music student looking to apply to Aaron Copland School of Music, I would advise against it because the music curriculums are outdated and do not provide necessary classes related to technology and music production.
