i never lived in the dorms but i know people make good friends there.…
Have never lived in the dorms at the California College of Arts campus but have heard and seen reviews from past students who have lived in the dorms that they…
The dorms can be disgusting. I do not stay in the dorms but the few times i have visited I'm glad i didn't live in the dorms.…
I had the pleasure of living in the dorms all four years at CCA and they were some of the best times of my life. My first year was the…
This school has no real meal plan, if you do residency then you are forced to buy a 250 a2 meal card which is pointless, as it is not nearly enough to cover a semester and you might as well just pay out of pocket. The cafe is overpriced and the food is not very good. There are cheaper better places to eat nearby on college ave, like the Burrito Shop or Cactus Taqueria.
Read MoreThere is no meal plan option, so you have to get your own food. But there is kitchen access in all dorm buildings for cooking. Bringing cooking supplies and utensils is a must.
Read MoreGood luck, its all out of pocket.
Read MoreThere's no meal plan.
Read MoreThere are no cafeterias, so if you live in the dorms learn how to cook or you will eat a LOT of ramen. Cooking with a group of people helps pull resources, creates tastier meals, and makes it easier if you are not so good at cooking. There are lots of local places to get good food if you prefer not to cook, but they come at Bay Area prices.
Read MoreA2 cafe is our only dining but it is the best. Both the one on the San Francisco and Oakland campuses are run by the same family. They are the best and you will grow to love seeing them everyday.
Read MoreThe A-2 food is not bad for the price you pay and you get a variety of food ranging from pizza, sandwiches, pastries, coffee, soda, and even soup. My favorite would be the breakfast treats, I would order myself a coffee with a bagel and cream cheese, or if I was feeling fancy I would purchase a mushroom bagel with egg and cheese and some fruit on the side. The best part of having your school located in the bay area is the variety of food you have at your disposal. If you are in the mood for Asian cuisine, Mexican food, Mediterranean, or some burgers all you have to do is walk and your there. I enjoyed walking around and trying different food whenever I could, I would make it into a food adventure. There is a little something for everyone and I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
Read MoreEating out in San Francisco can get pretty exspensive! I reccomend local food trucks and small personally owned restaurants away from touristy downtown SF.
Read MoreThere are no fraternities or sororities at this school.
Read MoreNone
Read MoreThere is one Fraternity on campus: Alpha Rho Chi Professional Fraternity for Architecture and the Allied Arts. While it is mostly on the San Francisco Campus, it its open to everyone and good for learning about professionalism, meeting professional Alumni, and making close friendships with those who are interested in the same things you are.
Read Moreno, but I have heard that industrial design majors have one?
Read MoreOne architecture frat. I'm not positive as to what they do.
Read MoreThere are no Sororities or Fraternities at CCA, and I like it that way. I feel this way people can focus more on including everyone and becoming a closer community of artist citizens. If you want to get involved with the school you could try applying as a Chimera leader which is a student body representative or an R.A. which is a Resident Advisor with similar task but more specifically to the dorms. I had the privilege of working both positions and really enjoyed the students I met, and the person it helped shape me into. There are so many different way to get involved with the school, and making the most out of your college experience.
