Read MoreBe self sufficient and self reliant. While your friends and instructors are there to help you, you need to be prepared to do most things by yourself! Be aware that CCA is not an easy school, even if it has high admittance. It's hard work, but it's worth the pay off. Additionally, take advantage of your instructors experience. They are there because they know what they're talking about. They'll be the best asset. And for gods sake, read your emails!!
Read MoreOnly attend CCA if you sure that you want to study in the arts, because although it is good to experiment, it is an extremely place to be uncertain. Don't be afraid of it being located in Oakland; it is in Rockridge, which is quite suburban and safe, but is still really close to nightlife and character. Also, just because it is art school, doesn't mean there aren't any left-brain classes to fill requirements and pleasures.
