"Late Nite" is put on in the student union every Friday and Saturday night as an alternative to going out drinking (which a lot of students do), and it's not that bad. There are some restaurants in the area that are good too. Your options become much more limited if you don't have disposable income, though.

It's pretty small, so you'll find a lot of students go out to all the different bars here. Also, at the end of every academic year, there's a festival-type event. Think rides, comfort food, and known artist concert all for free!

I highly recommend trying the Lost Dog, Garage Taco, and Citrea. There's also a mall, a Friendly's ice cream place, and University Plaza, which looks really nice so make yourself a friend that lives there and spend some time in their main building. A lot of people may say that there's not much to do but if you make the right friends that are down to take a break from studying to do things, then you'll find lots of things to do. The university even has some great things.

Read MorePlenty of school clubs and activities, as well as a lot of offerings in town. Frats and sports for those who like them.
Read MoreThere's no football team but there's intramural sports. There's Spring Fling (festival in spring semester) and Rec Fest-a day in the beginning of the fall semester where you can check out the clubs and sign up for them. (DON'T MISS THIS IF YOU WANT TO GET INVOLVED) This is the best time for you to get out and check what the school has. The area also has restaurant week when you can go to restaurants downtown and eat for cheaper than usual. There's also the East Gym where you can go workout. They have weights, treadmills, a track, etc.
Read MoreThere are dozens of clubs, intramural sports, and always countless activities in each living community every week. Also the University sends out an email every day with all of the events taking place that day and for the next few days on campus. Aside from that, partying is a huge part of campus life, while greek life isn't mandatory to party it is still popular. There are always parties going on and the bars are always packed on the weekends. The University's main concern is safety, so as long as they don't see or hear you doing illegal things they won't try to get you in trouble, and they always are more concerned with your safety than anything else.
