The cafeteria is happy to work with you if you talk to the boss ahead of time. Once, though, I came in just looking miserable and he offered to get me some chicken stock. It was great. As for gluten free options and vegan/vegetarian, it's not great. Really, you'd be better off making your own food. The ice-cream machine is always broken, if you care about that.

A few years ago, the cafeteria was remodeled to an up to date style. With the renovations, the food improved as well. Students come to The Caf not just to chow down on the many different types of foods offer, but also to mingle and talk to the other students. The food is not the best, but not a lot of small private colleges have this many choices to decide what to eat. Besides eating in the cafeteria, Mojo's is around the corner so students can enjoy a cup of coffee, or non caffeinated drinks while studying for their exams.

Bethel College is re-doing the cafeteria. The food is pretty good. The best part is the environment where you eat. In the cafeteria, everyone normally eats around the same time, so it allows people to sit and talk to different students every day.

The food at Bethel is pretty typical for a small college. However, there are a lot of options outside of the main hot meal for students to make their own meals.
