Getting involved in any college is very important. Even if you decide to go somewhere else...GET INVOLVED!! It is such a big help to find people who have the same interests as you. At the University of Toledo there are more than enough organizations to get involved with. Most of them are not very time consuming. When involved with a organization, they help you stay focused. I have currently have a pretty good GPA, which I never would have expected, but I owe it to my involvement. Another good thing to remember is to stay on top of your work....

Kind of big, but not unbearable. The rec center was really cool and had a high ropes course, water slide, sauna, and some other things. Buildings are all really pretty to look at.

Read MoreJust speaking from the perspective of a parent of a special needs son - this may not apply to your situation: UToledo puts on a great face, talking about the systems they have in place, and how much they care. This is disingenuous at best - success coaches, SDS advisors, academic advisers - they are punching a clock, and will not go out of their standard operating procedure for the individual. Read MoreThe campus is beautiful. There were deer running across the grounds even though it's in the middle of a large city. The dorms I stayed in for Pharmacy Camp weren't as nice as I'd hope but the Honors dorms are much nicer.
Read MoreThe University of Toledo was definitely the right choice for me: it's affordable, everyone I've met is amazing, and I've made a lot of friends. For prospective students, Toledo gets a bad rep in terms of its academics, but I've found that the quality of education is just as good as bigger schools, if not better, because there is more oppportunity for one on one attention. If you're interested in medicine, check out their BS/MD program in bioengineering, which guarentees an interview with their medical school so long as program requirements are met.
Read MoreThe University of Toledo is a good MAC school. It is large, but does not feel overwhelming as so many of the big schools do. The people here are friendly, diverse, fun and nice.
