Definitely visit the campus, especially if you're out of state (like me). I'm from Colorado, and Virginia is extremely different. Going from the dryness of Colorado to the intense humidity was shocking. However, I like the weather in Virginia and really like the area around the campus. This review may not be super helpful since I only did a college visit and haven't attended, but I just wanted to encourage people to visit as well.

Tour on a day when kids are in class. I went over Thanksgiving break and it was a ghost town. The second time I went, kids were in class and I liked it much more. Also, apply early! You're automatically considered for merit aid if you apply before a certain date.
