If you enjoy athletics there are numerous amounts of club sports to attend, or if you're into philanthropy and helping others out you can join a fraternity or sorority, which there you will meet hundreds of new people. On campus there are two gyms, and a swimming pool if you enjoy to workout, play basketball, or swim.

Read MoreHonestly there are so many clubs its crazy. There is something there for absolutely everyone and URI is extremely supportive of all of their sports teams. They provide for their students in every way possible here. I toured the campus during finals week and URI was selling lobsters fresh out of the ocean in the quad and the quad was also filled with puppies for students to come play with just to release some of the stress from finals it was amazing.

The beach is a mere 10 minute drive down the line into Naragansett, and Newport is right across the bridge. There are also many local bars and pubs tailored for students, and if you don't mind a little extra driving, there's tons of fun to be had in our little Providence.
