Recreational sports, jazz concerts, sporting events, hanging out in the square, etc. I am positive that I missed a lot of things.

  • I am researching this school and have visited the campus

There are a lot of things to do for fun. The town of Denton has plenty of opportunities, and the UNT Rec center is amazing. The school hosts 1100 concerts each year, and they have an on-campus theatre that plays recent movies that students get to attend for free.

Denton has a huge night life scene, and we're about 40 minuets away from places like Dallas, Fort Worth, Allen, Plano, Frisco. There's so much to do and see. The location definitely drew me here.

UNT hosts a lot of great events for students throughout the year. I will caution incoming freshman that If you don't get involved it is very easy to get lost in the shuffle. I joined greek life and I have found a huge community of people that I have gotten close with however the campus is still very dead on the weekends and can be hard on someone who can't go home on a regular basis. UNT is a wonderful school but is not ready to host lots of out of state students.

Fun can be found anywhere at UNT. I live in victory hall and I normally just play pool with friends in the main area of the hall. But in the union there's karaoke in one of the restaurants, there is a gym for those who like to workout with a very very abundant amount of treadmills and supplies for enrolled students, all free of charge/included in your tuition. To be honest there is an abundance of things to do for fun at UNT.

  • I am accepted here and planning to attend soon

I plan on exploring downtown Dallas but to also look for different job opportunities. You never know what you can find in a big city.

Denton has tons of cool antique stores, book stores, and fun restaurants. Plus, at the campus there are chill/game rooms in a few different places.
