Become friends with your professors, more than often the professors are understanding people about any personal issue that may affect your school work but they won't help if they don't know who you are. Use the Student Academic Success Center as much as possible, they are knowledgeable on most classes you will be taking and can be so helpful, even if you just need to work on study skills. Sports games are a great place to meet new friends! Come to campus events, and provide feedback on what you liked/didn't like/ would want for other events. Believe it or not we listen to you. Definitely talk to someone in your intended major and scope out the campus.
