    If you are given the opportunity of joining the Honors College, ensure that you tour the dorms before hand. The building is gorgeous, however I found the individual dorm rooms to be very disappointing.

    Get to know your teachers. They are there for you, not for the research money like at every other large university. They truly care about their students. You will get more from your experience if you involve your teachers and advisors.
