The mission of the University of Houston is to discover and disseminate knowledge through the education of a diverse population of traditional and non-traditional students, and through research, artistic and scholarly endeavors, as it becomes the nation’s premier public university in an urban setting. The campus here is quite nice, and the people here are friendly. There are buses from the parking lots to the campus so that you do not have to walk too much. There are many places to study, especially at the library, which is quite huge. There are a wide variety of fast foods and small restaurants here, enough to keep it varied. I also enjoy the recreation center, as they have a large rock climbing wall, indoor track, and many other activities. There are many organizations and clubs to join here, as well as theater performances every so often.
Read MoreUH has earned every single one of those gold stars; experiences here have been so awesome that there is no need to sugar coat it. If you march in a high school band right now, I HIGHLY recommend continuing marching band here (we get a nice band grant every fall semester, just saying). There's too much to say about how awesome it was just during the first week. Just the people and the atmosphere alone are great reasons to be here. This campus and a vast majority of the people in it are genuine and welcoming ( I lost my iTouch in the middle of campus one day and it was turned in to UHPD instead of being stolen). There are always activities going on around the campus, and the food at Moody Towers is nothing short of yummy and satisfying.
Read MoreYes! I have been to the campus a few times...as an outsider I can't imagine any student saying they're bored.
Read MoreThe environment is amazing. It is such a diverse campus and you get to meet so many varieties of people. There are weekly school events where you will get free t-shirts and food, something that I think college students love.
