If considering the nursing program: BEWARE. It's possible but very competitive and if you aren't careful you can easily push yourself into being a 5+ year graduate in your first year if you do not get into the program. Other than that, the campus is beautiful and you're bound to find your niche. A word of caution though, lock your bike/moped up tight!

For students wanting to attend UH Manoa, I would say that you can get a relatively great education for a lot cheaper than you would at a school on the continental U.S. (unless you have lots of scholarships, of course). Ultimately, the school has wonderful opportunities for students, but the school also does not have all of the money and resources that other schools on the mainland might have.

Campus is huge, be used to walking around a lot. Traffic to and from Manoa get really bad. Plan around the morning and afternoon rush. Food is expensive, bring home lunch.
