Always carry an umbrella, consider getting a bike and make sure to use the uber safe code for nights out with friends! Attend at least one home football game, take advantage of the amazing gym, and use your flex bucks wisely.

Get and stay involved to better enjoy your stay at UF. If you are black meet other black students and faculty because they are the only ones with your well-being in mind (I had so many white teachers and advisors tell me to not become a doctor and find a new career and discourage me from applying to UF for post-graduate experiences). It's best to have a car in Gainesville but do not park on campus if you don't have a decal.

Participate in extra curriculum including volunteering. Look for college you want to go but keep in mind in state colleges are cheaper. Tour the university and look at dorms if possible.

Do not bring a car on campus. Do not buy the meal plan because it will be a waste. There will be days or certain meals that you paid for but will not be willing to get out of bed to go get it.
