UCCS does not require their freshman to spend the first year with them. In fact they don't make it a requirement to the student to stay there. They offer apartments…
This fluctuates with your roommates and floor, but the people who live on campus are serious about making the most out of their time at UCCS. Whether this is through…
Avoid if at all possible.…
I can't really rate this because I live at home to save money, but some of my friends live on campus and say that they have fun there!…
It's dorm food, theres not much to expect
Read MoreThe best dining hall on campus is the Roaring Fork. They have an all-you-can-eat style buffet with pizza, burgers, a salad bar, and two or three stations that change out meals based on the day. They've always got some kind of soup. I'm gluten-free, which is hardly a problem here. There are options almost everywhere you go. (Just make sure they cook your pizzas for a little extra time if you go to Cafe 65, because the gluten free dough goes in the oven frozen vs. the regular dough, which is put in at room temperature. It's always still cold in the middle if I don't ask them to leave it in longer.) Overall, the food isn't incredible, but I haven't gotten tired of it yet.
Read MoreHonestly, the food here is not that great, but to be fair I haven't really heard of a college with amazing food. There are 2 dining halls on campus, each that serve different items everyday. The problem is that they will serve the same thing for breakfast as they do for dinner. This was solved by going to one for lunch and going to the other for dinner. Another issue is that there were quite a few times that I left unsatisfied due to the lack of food that I wanted, and I am not a picky person. Good thing freshmen are required to get the unlimited food plan because I went back in between meals to fill up!
Read MoreThey have good food on campus. The coffee places on campus have very good coffee and good choices on food, especially before you start class and taking breaks between classes.
Read MoreAgain, I haven't eaten in the dorm cafeterias but have heard some more good things about them. The on campus restaurant/bar Clyde's is pretty good, but expensive and some of their dishes are really strange. I ordered a portobello burger once, and it was literally a giant mushroom on a toasted bun- that one was my fault for not reading the description well enough, but even for a vegetarian meal still tasted dry and bland. The coffee shops are good and always improving their options. The cafeteria in the main student life building called the University Center is okay.
Read Morefood not to bad they have a lot more variety than in my freshmen year
Read MoreThe prices are high for the quality.
Read MoreNot stellar but not bad. Sustainability is a plus. Dorm food sucks, but Cafe '65 is alright. I usually just bring a lunch and dinner from home.
Read MoreI give UCCS only four stars in this area because, though they provide high quality food, the prices are through the roof. They do provide a few cheaper options though which are just as good if not more so. There are cafes located strategically throughout campus.
Read Morethere's a few sororities and fraternities around campus
Read MoreI don't believe their is a Greek life at this point.
Read MoreDon't think so.
Read MoreI am a part of Greek life, although it is not very big at UCCS, I absolutely love being in a sorority here. We are very involved in school and it gives me something to look forward too.
Read MoreNot much. I think we have two maybe three sororities and again maybe only two or three fraternities.
Read MoreBeing that I'm not in a sorority or fraternity, I'm not qualified to comment on this section.
Read MoreGreek life at UCCS is not too big we have 4 in total, which is 2 sorieties and 2 fraternities.
Read MoreLimited to only a couple, but large and active sororities and fraternities.
Read MoreGreek life is sub par. If that's your aim this isn't a good place for you.
