  • I am researching this school and have visited the campus

I did not get to eat in a dining hall. There were many food trucks on the Friday that I visited. Hyde Park offers many culinary adventures.

  • I am accepted here and planning to attend soon

Unless you live at Campus North, you have to walk a little bit outside to go the dining halls - and it IS Chicago. However, the food isn't bad and there are plenty of other places to eat around the community.

I don't know too much about the food and dining as I am not a current student but it seems as though there is a huge variety readily available both on and off campus.

food is mediocre, in terms of campus food. however, uchicago is located right in hyde park meaning there is a plethora of food options. hyde park is beyond diverse, so this means food options are too. there are a lot of great eateries, big and small, expensive and cheap. so, don't worry about food because you have plenty of options.

The dining halls are superb. If you are a fan of Harry Potter, I am sure you will adore having the chance to eat in a hall that so closely resembles those of Hogwarts. Even if you are not a fan of Harry Potter, the dining halls are beautiful and the food isn't half bad either.

  • I am researching this school and have not visited the campus

I haven't been to this college, like i stated previously. Therefore, there's no way for me to judge the food. Based on some other reviews, the food is decent, but nothing special.

The food here is terrible, especially for what they're charging you. There's no getting around that. Move off-campus and cook for yourself ASAP.

greek life exists, and as far as i can tell from living near the university area and biking past the greek houses, it's not super important. however, if you're looking for a social scene, this is possibly where you may find a large chunk of it. just from walking around campus, i have heard students gossiping about frats.

I'm not a member of greek life, but from an outsider's perspective, it seems fake and lame. But maybe that's more reflective of the type of person I am.

I dislike the greek life on campus. The Black fraternity and sororities are mostly city chapters, so there are few actual UChicago participants, and it's not as lively as state and public colleges, but if you really care about it enough, you'll still want to join and contribute something.
