A pretty good institution even for a Caucasian student going to a historically black college. Still get great knowledge through the University. Just wish there was more student support and rowdiness at athletic events, just want to pack the stands!

Read MoreIs the best university I used.
Read MoreThe University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff is the proudest Historically Black institution there is in the south. They are very family oriented and really do care about doing the best for their students. I would give my school a score of 4 out 5.
Read MoreI love this university, its like home to me because everyone is like a family. The professors really take the time out to get to know their students and let them know that its okay to come to office. There is no place I would rather be, the staff at this university will make sure I have everything I need to make my college experience great.
Read MoreUAPB is at best a below average university. The education you receive at this school is far under what is expected at other universities. Yes, the teachers are generally nice and have time to talk to you, but other than that, the instruction is terrible. I have now been here for two semesters and out of 12 classes, I have found 1 that actually challenges me. The teachers expectations are generally low and its a miracle if they actually teach you something in the class. I am taking 18 credits, working part time and have more than enough spare time. This should be a red flag. I have A's in all my classes and barely study. Why you ask? The teachers either don't care, have low expectations of the students (maybe due to geographic location and culture) or are just unqualified teachers. Just because it is an HBCU, does not mean it gives appropriate education and being that it is historical doesn't equate to a good education. If you look at graduation rate statistics, you'll see the statistic is extremely low. Yes, its great if you want to slide by in college and pass with a degree, but what if you actually want to do something in life, maybe apply for a competitive job or apply for a master's program? I can guarantee you the education you receive here will not prepare you for the next step. Most teachers let you turn in work late, let you use your book on exams, and expect you to learn most of the information yourself. Also, I have asked several times for recommendation letters for scholarships, or advising issues to be completed and no one gets anything done unless you hound them for a month. I don't have time to be a student and do a teachers job as well. This university is providing a disservice to its students and using the term HBCU to hide behind. Beware, go somewhere else!
Read MoreThe University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff can be a great place for students to succeed. That is, if you are willing to deal with all the unnecessary things this campus has... Make sure you want to be in this environment before you make that final decision.
Read MoreUAPB is a wonderful institution. It has a rich history that I am very proud to further as a student there. Of course, there are a few things about the school that I do not enjoy, but as a whole I do love my school. On a scale of 1 to 10 with every aspect of college included I would rate Uapb at 7.447.
Read MoreIt is a great school if you put the effort into it. The campus could be better, but the buildings are nice.
