Although all of the classes i have taken at UAF ( engineering based as well as a few rec) have been very enlightening and I personally feel you get the level of teaching you sign up for- 100, 200 level classes- I have heard from more than one east coast person that they don't feel challenged enough.

have visited the campus
They provide diverse programs for all different students. UAF students are engaged and have so much fun inside and outside the classroom. It is always underrated because it is the "local college" but it has a very good reputation among prospective employers and colleagues.

UAF is an excellent choice for STEM majors from what I've seen. The advising staff is incredibly helpful and easy to find. The campus has a great atmosphere and plenty of trails for the more adventurous.

the university of alaska fairbanks offers some of the greatest programs to study in the world. it's a very unique place not only because of the location, but because of the variety of cultures. fairbanks a.k.a, the golden heart city isn't for the faint of heart because it's always a socially active community who only aims to better itself for the residents living here, and students too of course!

Very community bound. Fantastic facilities to grow and learn. Lots of winter activities such as ice climbing, sledding, and a terrain park on campus for skiing and snowboarding.

I would rate the UAF as a 6.My first couple semesters have been very difficult base on the teachers I have had and the weather in Alaska. Moth of the teachers you get the first year are all grad students.

UAF is a great school for people that are not afraid of the cold. The school of management is great as well as the hard sciences. The campus is small and so is Fairbanks.
