the rooms are small, but you have high-speed internet, cable tv, local phone access, and a great bus system for getting around campus.…
the ra's are awesome! not too chill and not too strict. they regularly hold social events every week, games, movies, zombie survival, etc.…
I recommend having a roommate, even if you don't think you want one. This allows for you to meet someone new and potentially make a friend with whom you will…
average. small, but you make friends so quickly.…
I know very little of this, but there are several restaurants in the food courts.
Read MoreThe food here is the bomb.
Read MoreVery expensive.
Read MoreThough I have heard a few horror stories, none of my friends have had a truly bad experience with Dine 49 or the Grill. The Kitchen always has something new, while the Pizza and Mongolian BBQ counters stick to a few favorites with the occasional surprise.
Read Moregreat food, unique backgrounds of people making it and they are always open to requests!
Read Moreexpensive and not a lot of options
Read Morealthough there isn't much on campus, uaf is located by many popular to-go/fast food restaurants.
Read MoreLots of exciting food, a little pricey if you eat a lot, but good none the less. They've got great facilities, and several around campus, good for sit down meals and food on the go.
Read MoreThe food in the commons wasn't bad in my opinion, but it wasn't a very high quality and some people did complain about it. It felt like pretty typical college food. People were allowed to take some leftover out and the university was pretty reasonable with that, only making an issue out of it when someone tried to stash up for dinner. And like at most colleges, it's cheaper to buy your own food than to get a meal plan.
Read MoreIn the past year, they have changed the dining cafeteria a lot, for the better. Not you can get Mongolian hibachi to burgers and pizza, a deli shop, sushi and falafel. A bit over priced, but good overall, coffee shop downstairs from the cafeteria that is excellent where they host a poetry slam every month and a talent show.
Read MoreThere is none.
Read Moremany frats and sororities around.. depending on your goals
Read Moreunsure
Read MoreThere are currently no houses on campus, unfortunately, but there is one group that doesn't officially have a house. They hold meetings and do activities, and are generally pleasant to be around.
Read MoreNot much of a Greek life. only one sorority and one fraternity.
Read Moreits is not so good at UAF.
Read MorePoor at best. There are two fraternities and one sorority: Alpha Phi Omega, Sigma Phi Epsilon, and Sigma Sigma Sigma. APO is by far the most popular, with a legitimate membership count (~40). It's a coed service fraternity, and is generally respected. Sigma Phi Epsilon has hit some hard times. Two years ago they had 1 member left (who was paying thousands in order to keep the chapter open). Now they've bounced back, with something like 15 members. I was a member of this fraternity, it's not worth the dues and I left. The current President's claims that they have pledges lines up this coming semester are... dubious. Sigma Sigma Sigma had 5 members last time I checked, and are having a very hard time getting new members and paying their national dues. I expect them to fall apart completely, but they've managed to stick around for at least this long.
Read MoreI have recently joined the fraternity Alpha Phi Omega which is a co-ed service fraternity. The members are all really welcoming and are really involved in the school and community.
