I'd recommend living on campus -- at least for your first year. There are so many things I'd miss as a commuter. Don't be afraid to talk with your professors. They, along with your advisers, can help you find direction and put you on the right path toward graduation. Get involved -- This is a chance to reinvent yourself. High school prepared you for this moment. If you had a bad time back then, this is your do-over. The University of Akron has countless groups you can get involved with. Show up and participate, no one will judge. In fact, they'll be happy you're there. Take AP classes in high school. If you pass the AP test, you can cut out some college classes and save a lot of money.
