Get your to-do list done as soon as possible. 1) Apply for admissions at tmcc.edu under future students Steps To Enroll (there is no application fee unless you decide to attend, then they will charge you $20 in your tuition) 2) As soon as you receive your admissions letter (It will only be 3-5 business days, if you do not receive it within a week you need to contact Admissions and Records and tell them to resend it) take a tour of the campus. Tours are walk in and take about 45 minutes. The campus has three main buildings all within a couple minutes walk. 3) Take the accuplacer (It is free the first time and they have study guides.) The test is not timed and they are open Saturdays. If you have ACT or SAT scores within two years you can send TMCC those instead. 4) SOAR orientation has two parts. First part is online through your Canvas (you will need your admissions letter username and password) and you just read about info on TMCC resources and take a few quizzes. At most it should take about 1 hour (if you don't do anything else in between). Second part is getting a meeting with an Academic Advisor who will help you sign up for classes (you do not do that by yourself). They do have phone appointments and online versions if you live far away) 5) Financial Aid with the FASFA should always be completed, even if you don't get anything. There are Financial Advisors who will sit down through the whole process of FASFA with you (No charge and you do not have to be a student to get help with FASFA) *If you are a transfer or non-degree you may have more (send in transcripts) or less things to do.
