    1. You don't have to be best friends with your roommate. Sometimes, not spending every waking moment together is better for your relationship. 2. Get to lunch early on days when tours of campus are going on. There is nothing worse than being stuck waiting in long lines. 3. Join an intramural team. Intramurals are a great way to stay active and meet new people.

Put yourself out there. Don't hold back. Try something new. I had never danced before going to Thomas but had always wanted to so I went to the meeting for the dance team and it was the best decision I made. The girls are amazing, the coach is wonderful. They are very accepting of everybody regardless of experience and they are some of the best friends I've ever made. So don't be afraid and try something new!

Meet a lot of people during orientation because at this school once you make your clique of people it is very hard for others to get in. Get the meal plan with the terrier dollars that you can use in the dog pound because the food here isn't always great and instead you can use your dollars on your card to buy food from the dog pound which in my opinion is better than the dinning hall food. Get to know your professors. They will become a big help for you in your success.
