Maintain the Best GPA you can. Try to make a 1200 combined SAT or 26 ACT score. The University looks for the well-rounded, so respond in your application accordingly. UTD is Great for Pre-Med and Pre-Law prospectives!

UTD has a beautiful campus with a great environment. As it's a growing campus, you can see the newer buildings coming up everywhere and thanks to the close proximity to downtown, there is always something to do.

Community life is around; it isn't Texas Tech or UT Austin, but if you make friends you can have a lot of fun in your free time. The worst part of this school is that the academic advisors are unlikely to help you with anything related to your major and that classes fill up in the first few days of enrollment every semester; it's a huge headache to enroll in the courses that are required for a timely graduation.

Read Moreuniversity represents a "pro nerdy" environment which allows academics to be of most importance to the students who attend. Amazing architecture throughout campus. Students are less likely to form study groups because most usually particate in jobs outside of school.

Read MoreI visited the campus and I have to say that it is a pretty good size for someone who wants to be in an urban city and still get the homely feel. The students are really nice and I felt free to ask them questions. It's also a lot more ethnically diverse than some of the other schools I visited so I like that aspect.
