Definitely ask for help when you need it. It's really easy to be swept up in all of the exciting things going on, but you have to remember that you're there for an education. Professors, councilors, and really any of the staff can help you if you're struggling; even simply by pointing you in the direction of someone who's an expert on helping you. Professors will really go out of their way to make sure you succeed, so don't be intimidated by the stories your high school teachers may have told you! If you ask for help, you'll receive the help you need.
