dorm life is a good experience it's very covenant and it is pretty quite. the facilities are really nice and the RA's are very helpful. the only down side is…
Housing at TAMUCC is a bit of a nightmare. From unreliable, slow wifi to frequent power outages, the extremely expensive housing on campus runs across many issues, yet provides little…
There are 4 types of campus living: regular dorms, apartments, double suites and individual suites. Most of the buildings are new so you don't really have to worry about anything.…
The only exciting places to eat here are Chick-Fil-A, and Subway. The Panda Express isn't as good as the ones in the city. Also, the other places like GrillNation and the barbecue restaurant are decent. The dining hall is buffet style, but it is like your typical buffet. A large quantity with mediocre quality.
Read MoreFood is fairly good. When you live on campus the dining hall is free and the food is good, always has different menus very day. There is also SubWay, Pizza Hut, Panda Express, Starbucks and Chick-fi-la.
Read MoreThe dining hall meal plan is required for those that live on campus, and is outrageously overpriced. Food is not only awful, but often inedible as it's frequently undercooked.
Read MoreThe school has recently built a new dining hall which is fabulous! Its like having a home-cooked every day. We also have a full sized Starbucks and a mini Starbucks. We also have a Subway and a Mexican food restaurant on campus called Chick'n Grill. All of these places provide meal swipes so you can eat wherever you want through the meal plan. Construction is currently being done on our University Center (UC) which will have a Pizza Hut and other dining options available.
Read MoreThe worst thing about living on campus is that they require you to buy a $1,200-$1,500 meal plan. It is a complete rip-off, especially if you are living in an apartment, since they require you to get 10 meals/week yet you have a full kitchen available to you. The dining hall is pretty gross and has terrible hours, and there aren't many other options. There are about two places to go get a legitimate meal on campus currently, but they plan to expand to four next year (not including the dining hall).
Read MoreFood is alright in the dining hall. There are restaurants on campus and they are good.
Read MoreJust recently build a Dinning Hall- Nice food and if you live on campus important to get a meal plan. They will be adding more food services when the university center finishes. They do have Subway, Starbucks, and Einstein's Bagels
Read MoreThe school recently opened a new Dinning Hall and the food is really good! Everyone loves it!
Read MoreWe have a subway, Starbucks, food truck and a new dining hall. I do not have a meal plan so I have not tried out the dinning hall but it's nice to have a few other options for lunch. It can get a little tiring and expensive to eat from campus so I suggest if possible pack your own lunch for the day.
Read MoreI have no knowledge on this topic, I apologize.
Read MoreI have many friends involved in the Greek Life at TAMUCC, and they praise it highly. However, they do not have special housing, and the acceptance is not as prestigious as what is found at many other universities. I feel that if you are truly hoping to be a part of the lively Greek living seen in movies and TV shows, TAMUCC may not be your best fit, but if you're just looking for a community of friends, TAMUCC's Greek Life won't let you down.
Read MoreGreek life is alive here at campus, but it doesn't rule the school and everyone gets along great.
Read MoreI haven't been personally involved, but some of friends say its like any other campus.
Read MoreI'm not involved in the Greek Life, but for a school our size, it's actually really prevalent here. They're all very nice too, and have changed my view on Greek Life.
Read MoreGreek Life is the life for me! And you! Go Greek! I am apart of the TAMUCC Gamma Phi Chapter of Delta Delta Delta! When i was rushing i was very optimistic, it was more of a experience opportunity. I told myself that if i did not get a bid from a chapter that I still get to say that I rushed and got to see what it is about, plus I was a little distant towards the idea especially after hearing about the stereotypical background of sororities. Was I ever so wrong?! The moment I walked into the Tri Delta room I instantly clicked with the girls and they proved all my notions wrong about the stereotypes of sorority girls. Every sorority and fraternity is different at all campuses, but we go beyond the red solo cup. Joining a fraternity or sorority is an excellent way to meet people and establish life-long friendships. Each organization plans social events to strengthen friendships within the chapter and allow for social interaction with members of other groups. Having a positive social environment provides a well-rounded college experience and eases the adjustment to a new environment.Sororities and fraternities recognize the need and concern throughout the year to raise money and donate time for their special philanthropies and service projects. Often the Greek community comes together to benefit worthwhile programs, as well as sponsoring community- based programs like Habitat for Humanity. Each year, philanthropic events allow Greeks to contribute their time and effort in many ways and benefit the community by generating hundreds of hours of service and thousands of dollars in fund raising. I am so glad I ended up going through with rush and receiving a bid from Tri Delta. My sisters are my saving grace and I have grown into someone that I can be proud of. Striving to do better with my others and influences others in positive aspects. Our philanthropy is St. Jude Children's Hospital and every penny, every event we establish all proceeds go to St. Jude. The patients of St. Jude are very important to us, and that alone is our motivators. My sisters are my heart and all. Greek Life has been the best decision in my college career! No matter the differences, we are all brothers and sisters and we come together to grow our chapters and ourselves.
Read MoreGreek life is not big here. I, however have joined a sorority and absolutely am in love with it.
Read MoreThere are many sororities and fraternities to choose from that are welcoming and they are never bullies. Safe and friendly, they welcome their brothers and sisters with open arms.
Read MoreI've heard it's just the best.
