    If you are planning to be a commuter (which you can only do if you live in Spartanburg County, barring special circumstances), choose the Pioneer Points meal plan. It's not really a meal plan, but points that act like cash in the cafeteria and, I think, the bookstore as well. Meal prices for Pioneer Points are a bit cheaper than cash at-the-door prices, so it'll save you a bit of money; also, unused money on your account rolls over to the following semester. If you have any problems or concerns, talk to the Dean when he's out and about on campus--he's very personable and truly cares about the students!

    Sign up for classes quickly, the best ones get filled up quickly. Make sure to know where the tutoring center is, it is very helpful. Time management, stay on deadlines!

    Make lots of friends expecialy thouse who were here last year and thouse that are interested in the same feild of study as you. If you can find a way to share a book with a friend for the same class on diffrent days do it because it will save you money.
