If you are coming to Southern, I would highly suggest that if you are unsure or uncertain of your degree path, go to career counseling as a Freshman and make sure you sit down with first year advising to map out where you see yourself. With the help of career counseling, you can get a professional evaluation done on where you fall in line as a university student and save yourself and your parents a lot of money. Make sure to truly get to know your advisers and professors and look them up, don't be afraid to ask ask around for advice from older students about certain professors and classes. MOST importantly, any student especially if you are in the business field/social work/psychology/Theology and any other major, get involved in a club, use these opportunities to make friends and get to know people, the college experience is still a great one as long as you have people to go through it with you.

I believe this school is more for science emphasis students because this university has a good connection with some hospitals and medical schools. Also, Southern has a very good theology program. Since this is a Christian school, most students are required to attend the worship services, and it provides plant-based diet on the campus. I encourage prospective students to join different activities of the school, so they can learn more through real time experience.
