Categories Comments Campus Safety All of the people who work for the Department of Public Safety are really approachable and knowledgeable. You can always count on them for help, whether it is getting into a locked building, looking for your lost ID, or consulting them on a more serious issue, they always have your back and are looking out for you.
Greek Life There are three main Greek Life groups on campus and then there is a couple for theater and social work. There is Alpha Phi Omega (a co-ed service fraternity), Phi Sigma Sigma (a sorority), and Pi Lambda Phi (a fraternity). APO does a lot for the community and the campus as a whole in terms of service and is a really fun group of people. The "Pi Lambs" are known for their "homeless for the homeless" event that they do every year where they sleep in front of the dorm building in boxes and accept donations of food, money and clothes to give to the local homeless shelter.
Clubs and Activities There are so many clubs that if you are interested in anything I bet there is a club for it. If there isn't, then you can start one. My friend actually just started a photography club on campus and it is going really well so far!
Great for these types of students This school is great for people who consider themselves weird or nerdy, because we all are. It kind of adds to the family atmosphere around here that we are all crazy in our own unique way and we all love each others quirks. Also, we have a lot of athletes here. I am not an athlete, but I really enjoy sports and playing some pick up basketball with the athletes is pretty great.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus We celebrate Holi Fest which is an Indian tradition and we serve Indian food and drinks and we all line up for henna tattoos and then we do a color throw with white T-shirts on. Free food, free drinks, free tattoos, and free T-shirts. What could be better?
Bang for the buck You get a really good quality education here with faculty who really care about your education. They love it that you love to learn. I am well ahead in credits for my year because I keep on taking more classes just for fun or because I like the teacher and they ask me to be in their class.
What to do for fun Groups on campus often host events including comedians, singers, jugglers, and my personal favorite, animal magic. There are tons of service opportunities to do with APO and the Habitat For Humanity chapter, as well as SHU Serves. Also, we have an amazing theater department that puts on fantastic shows. I have attended most, if not all, of the productions here and I have never been disappointed. In addition to that, we have a beautiful choir and band that has fantastic performances and concerts (the Christmas concert is my favorite).
Food and Dining Most days you can find something you like at the UC, some days you can't. I think the salad bar is always good, but on the weekends it is sparse unless there is an event going on.
Dorm Life I love my roommate. All of the residence life staff is wonderful and extremely helpful (especially if you lock yourself out!). The only downside is the community bathroom that can get really dirty if people don't clean up after themselves, but most of the time they do.
Academic Rigor The work here is challenging, but in a good way. It encourages and promotes a love of learning. It is pretty easy to get overwhelmed, so take it slow the first semester and then add on organizations and fun classes so you know how much you can handle at one time.
Tips for prospective students You will always have mentors here at Siena no matter what major you choose or what groups you are in. Use their knowledge and listen to their stories. You will learn so much from their experiences and they will be able to guide you in ways more than just academics; they are amazing and valuable resources.
In three sentences Siena has a wonderful family atmosphere where you can have great relationships with peers and professors alike. This closeness with one another adds to the learning environment of the school because we aren't afraid to ask each other for help or share quirky little tricks to remember things. It is a beautiful campus filled with the loving and welcoming hearts of those around you.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus safety is great! There is always someone around the clock. If you don't feel comfortable walking from the parking lot to the dorms, all you have to do is call and they will send someone to escort you back safely.
Greek Life There is one social sorority and one social fraternity on campus. But there is also a service fraternity on campus, as well as academic fraternities pertaining to your major.
Clubs and Activities There are many clubs on campus! There is at least one that will appeal to each student.
Food and Dining The food here is the typical food you would find most places. They recently moved the cafeteria to a new location and the quality is the same if not slightly worse. Sometimes they add too much butter or oil to the food though. But some days certain foods can be great. It's kind of hit or miss.
Dorm Life There is always something to do on campus, whether there is an event put on by an organization on campus, residence life, or friends. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. The dorms themselves are typical dorms with the stereotypical wooden furniture, but they can be easily made comfortable and homey.
Academic Rigor The work is manageable if you keep on top of it. Professors do NOT accept late work. If you are struggling in a course the professors are there to help you.

Categories Comments What to do for fun Always join clubs, that's where most of your fun will come from since it's a very small town. Ann arbor and Toledo are within an hour away.
Food and Dining You cannot be a picky eater. There are so many food choices. The new student center just opened up and now includes a Mongolian BBQ, pizza bar, salad/soup bar, and two places to get the main course and try out different foods!
Dorm Life The rooms are very spacious, clean and heated in the winter. The only reason i will not give all 5 stars is because of how hot it gets when you get their in the fall, be sure to bring a fan!
Academic Rigor All teachers teach differently depending on their own personality. All of the teachers i have are concerned in your education and will help you if asked. Also, depending on what you may need help with, there are tons of specific clubs, rooms, and resources dedicated to helping you achieve your stay there!
Tips for prospective students Be ready for what you may encounter, Be open; Closed mindedness will get you no where, and finally be open to make new friends and join clubs!
In three sentences Siena Heights is an amazing college! Out of the 3 choices I had I fell in love with this school. If you are looking for diverse, open, educational, and optimistic college, this one is for you.

Categories Comments Greek Life A few fraternities and sororities. They do not even have a house however.
What to do for fun Actually there is not much to do in Adrian. You would think with there being two colleges in one town there would be stuff to do here.
Food and Dining The food here is absolutely terrible.
In three sentences So far it has not lived up to my expectations. There is not much to do here and it is really small. It also is not worth the $30K you are paying every year to attend school here.

Categories Comments What to do for fun There isn't a whole lot to do in Adrian but there are ways to entertain yourselves. Most people go out to eat or go to either Ann Arbor or Toledo which are both about 45 minutes away.
Food and Dining The food is alright, most days it's not too bad.
Dorm Life The dorms are awesome, just being around everyone all the time is so cool. Some people hate the dorms and couldn't wait to get out but I had an awesome experience and honestly don't mind them at all.
Academic Rigor The courses are tough but the professors are willing to help and they want to see all students succeed.
Tips for prospective students Keep an open mind and don't judge the school on how small it looks.
In three sentences A great place to learn and grow as a person. I cannot see myself at any other school. Overall a fantastic place and I would recommend it to anyone.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Most of the people in DPS are pretty cool, just dont be walking around with a beer in your hand and you'll be fine.
Greek Life 1 frat and maybe 1 sorority .. basically dont come here if your looking for Greek Life. (Non-existent)
Clubs and Activities Shooting club, Bass fishing club, Human Trafficking awareness club, PRIDE, Fellowship of Chrisitan Athletes, SPARK, Dodgeball, and many more!
Great for these types of students Wanting a liberal arts education. Prepared to jump through remedial hoops for financial aid. Especially for students who just want to make great friends and relationships with people in this small community.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Not to sure of any unusual traditions besides the Siena curse. Which basically means you talk about someone either behind their back or just talk about someone in general and then literally at that very moment that person shows up in the midst of your conversation about them.
Bang for the buck Siena's price for a private university is definetly the most reasonable if you live off campus (including the campus apartments) better off renting a house or another apartment in town for a cheaper cost of living.
What to do for fun There is a couple disk golf courses in town, student engagement is starting to come around with a new campus activities director. Siena is definitely on the upside of a growing university.
Food and Dining Food is not too bad. New student center is going in with much better food options. So ill give it a fair rating for now.
Dorm Life The dorms are very large in comparison to other schools. The bad thing about them is the heating system is boiler heat, so if you have skin issues its really going to suck.
Academic Rigor The academic rigor is difficult at times, but it is not an overabundence of remedial work once you get into your upper level courses.
Tips for prospective students This is a great school for nursing, religious studies, as well as for sports management.
In three sentences Siena Heights is great for the small class sizes as well as academic facilities. Majority of professors at Siena want to see each student excell and will push each student to their fullest potential. The athletic facilities are great as well.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Excellent! SHU tip are available through text messages and if there is any situation on campus they are there within two minutes!
Clubs and Activities There are so many clubs and activities at Siena. We have so many groups you can join that will make you feel right at home and it is a great way to be involved with campus.
Great for these types of students Siena is great for everyone! They reach out to all personalities and they make sure that no one is left out. One great thing is if you feel like you are not apart of something you can start your own student organization and let your voice be heard.
What to do for fun There's always something to do on campus between sports and the different student organizations you can't go wrong. Off campus there's the movies and going out to eat, plus Adrian College is around the corner and there is always something going on there as well.
Food and Dining There is our dining hall, Benicassa- Benni's for short. In Benni's there's a variety of food each day and that is where they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Then there is the Sage Union where you can get snacks and chose from a variety of food such as, salads, tacos. pizza, subs etc.
Dorm Life Living in the dorms are great. There's an option of single rooms, double room, and quads. If you choose to get a suit you will have a personal bathroom but if you do not get a suit you have to use the community bathrooms which get cleaned twice a day. There are also campus apartments you can move into after your sophomore year, but most upper class-man move off campus and get a house.
Academic Rigor Siena Heights is a liberal arts institution and it requires strong critical thinking skills and discipline. One advantage of going to a small university is the one on one relationships you develop with your professors and advisers. They are genuinely considered about our education and they push us to give 110% with everything.
Tips for prospective students Come in open minded. Most people think that because it is a small school and in a small town there isn't anything to do, or you will not have fun but that isn't true. Siena Heights student engagement always has things for their students to do and Adrian is a 30-45 minute drive from Ann Arbor and Toledo.
In three sentences Siena Heights University is a private liberal arts institution that gets you ready for your field of practice and it helps you grow as an adult. Siena Heights is a private university so the professor's and staff make you feel like family and as loved as possible. Choosing to go to Siena Heights University was the best decision of my life.

Categories Comments What to do for fun Play sports with others. Since 95% of the students there play sports it is easy to interact with others that way.
Food and Dining The food is good but will get better with the new opening of the student center in the fall school year of 2013
Dorm Life Great, you get a chance to get to know everyone.
Academic Rigor Great all around in every program.
Tips for prospective students To have a great experience, get involved in as many programs and events as much as possible.
In three sentences I would rate Siena 4 out of 5 stars. It is a smaller university and the town of Adrian there isn't much to do. It is a education based environment.

Categories Comments Campus Safety We have DPS which are the campus patrol and they do a great job of protecting and making sure everyone is safe.
Greek Life There isn't much of a Greek life.
Clubs and Activities There are a ton of clubs and activities for students who want to get involved.
Great for these types of students Its great for the type of student who do not mind rigorous school work and not much of a party scene. If you go here you know you value your education.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Its a catholic institution and we have to a lot of stuff surrounding that religion.
Bang for the buck Its a really expensive school almost but the education is very worth it.
What to do for fun I can go workout and I play football so I am already pretty occupied. I can go hangout with my friends. We either go out to eat or go to a friends dorm and just hangout.
Food and Dining The food is not very good, but breakfast would have to be the best meal they offer.
Dorm Life There pretty small and its not a big party school so you can focus on your studies.
Academic Rigor Its pretty tough for a student going into Nursing but I love it. Our requirements is maintain at least a 3.0 and get all As and Bs in out science courses.
Tips for prospective students I would say just take advantage of all the opportunity they offer. The classes wont be easy but the teachers are great so just pay attention, do the work and you will be alright.
In three sentences Its small but a great school. The Nursing program is very good. This institute sets its students up for success.

Categories Comments Clubs and Activities You can join or create any club you want at Siena. If you want to join just get information from the club president or you can usually just sign up for it. If you want to create, then you have to have at least five people that want to join your club and boom you have a brand new club on campus.
Bang for the buck You really don't what you pay for here. 32,000 and they don't even have decent technology.
What to do for fun GO OUT! make a lot of friends and go to the movies, go bowling, go to the club. There really isn't that much to do in Adrian, but it makes it even worse when you don't even have someone to be bored with. Go to parties, some will be horrible and some will be the best parties you've ever gone to, Siena isn't a party school, but there's another one right around the corner that is. Also your RA might be having fun events for your hall so keep an eye out for those too.
Food and Dining I'll be completely truthful about the food, its horrible, Bennicasa dinning hall has terrible food most of the time. If you always come to a meal late, your guaranteed to not have any good, fresh, hot food. The breakfast is always good, but any meal after, beware.
Dorm Life Living in the dorms is ok, but as always there are rules you must abide by but you can get away with most. No one can tell you what time to come back, you are an adult so you are treated as such for the most part. Try not to be too loud, otherwise you'll get a lot of noise complaints that you don't need in your life. Also the dorms get unbearably hot in the winter and unbearably cold in the summer.
Academic Rigor This school is great academically, and definitely for you if you want a challenge. The professors are pretty fair, do your work and you will be fine. ALWAYS follow the syllabus, they don't matter in high school but they are crucial in college.
Tips for prospective students if you don't want to pay 32,000 a year then it is not for you. If you aren't a student athlete or you can't apply for loans, just save yourself. The financial aid offices in this school will not help you pay once you have 'exhausted' all the aid you can receive. As I stated before if your parents can co-sign for a loan for whatever reason, and you don't have any credit, do not come to this school.
In three sentences Overall, this school isn't a horrible place to be. The people are nice, it's very easy to make friends even if you are shy.

What to do for fun Create study groups, be active in your cohort
Food and Dining vending machines only- nice selection
Academic Rigor The classes are not intense, the assignments are scheduled well in advance.

Categories Comments What to do for fun There is ALWAYS fun at SHU! Whether its a random movie night or an exciting sporting event, there is ALWAYS something to do at Siena. Most students begin missing theses fun activities the first week of summer. You meet tons of people, get TONS of free food and t-shirts, and do many things out of the ordinary.
Food and Dining There are two eating spots on campus. One being the main cafeteria, Benincasa, which is your traditional school cafeteria. It does not always have the tastiest and healthiest options, but it definitely gets the job done and students get used to the food after about a month. Sage Union is very conviently located just steps away from the dormatory offered healthier selections and more homemade decisions. Your food is cooked in front of you and the staff is incredible! There is also a wide variety of off campus dining too.
Dorm Life The dorms are actually not too bad. You get a lot more room than most big universities. They do get very hot at the beginning of the school year and the end, but it is as simple as buying a nice big fan! There are tons of community building events to create a comfortable atmostphere, and the game room is a great place to meet and hang out!
Academic Rigor Academics at Siena Heights are easy if you work hard. You are offered TONS of different types of courses ranging from sign language classes to sport management courses all the way to acting class. It is difficult to pick one specific major, so try everything!
Tips for prospective students Always work hard towards goals, because they are achievable. Respect peers and elders, because at Siena, nobody forgets who you are.
In three sentences Siena Heights is a beautiful and inspiring campus. The community is incredible here on campus, creating long lasting friendships and relationships. Siena Heights makes me proud to call it my home.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There is a public safety and they are always sitting at the front desk and able to see who walks in and out of the dorms and campus village. If you do not look familiar to them then they will ask to see id to make sure you are a student or a friend staying on campus for the night. They go around at night and make sure all the parking lots are safe and that nothing unusual is happening. All the side doors are locked at night and you are only able to get in through the front doors so no strangers can come in at night. They are really friendly with the students and know you by your name, or at least your face. They also have cameras around the building so they can see what is happening.
Greek Life There is one fraternity for the boys and everyone involved is really close with each other and hangs out during the day and night. They are friendly people and nice to everyone on campus. There is one for the girls as well and it is not as broadcast-ed as the fraternity.
Clubs and Activities We have different clubs for each of the majors and they do activities pertaining to their majors to help out. There is a student senate and they put on the different activities for the students to participate in. There is always an event to attend during the week.
Great for these types of students If you are one who wants to attend a smaller school this is just for you. Also if you are personable and enjoy spending time with people because you see the same people every day and tend to do things outside of the classroom with each other. Most of the students are athletes or in the acting side of school, so you will probably want to be involved with one of those because you will make plenty of friends right away.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus We have a Mr. Husky tradition where the men on campus compete to see who is the best in their own little competition. It is an event you definitely do not want to miss. Your eyes will be filled with tears from laughter.
Bang for the buck The school is a little on the expensive side, but they do a good job of helping students find scholarships to afford school.
What to do for fun There are plenty of school activities to attend during the week and generally a free t-shirt or food is available. Many of the students go and have fun bonding with each other. You are almost always able to go see a sporting event. There is a game room if you enjoy ping pong, air hockey, or pool. You are able to go to the field house and work out or play basketball with friends.
Food and Dining For the most part the food is good, but sometimes you want to have snacks in your dorm room in case you miss a meal. If you do not like the main meal being served there is always salad, bagels, cereal, soup, pizza, and french fries being offered as well. The drink selection is nice as well because there is a pepsi and coke machine, along with milk, water, and juice.
Dorm Life The dorms can be hot on some nights and cold on others. I would suggest bringing a fan and extra blankets. The students who live in the dorms are very nice and friendly. The RA's do a great job of putting events together for their hallways to bond; I would suggest going if you are able to.
Academic Rigor The classrooms can be a hard area depending on the courses you are taking, but teachers are willing to help outside of the classroom and you are always able to find someone in your class who will want to study with you. The tests you want to make sure you study for because they are not as easy as high school. Also, do your homework because that is easy points to earn.
Tips for prospective students You want to make sure you have plenty of clothes for warm and cold weather because, depending on the day, the classrooms can be either extremely hot or cold. You want to make sure that you do all of your homework ahead of times because more than one assignment will be due on the same day. Also, Make sure that you study for exams, but if you need help their are study groups, and teachers can help you as well.
In three sentences Siena Heights is a great school if you are looking for a smaller location and still want to live on campus. The students are extremely involved and school spirited at sporting events and attend each other's games. It is a great community atmosphere and everyone is welcoming and friendly to each other.

Categories Comments Campus Safety We have a full staff for public safety. There is someone there 24/7, 365 days out of the year. They can be reached easily from the dorm rooms and are quick to get across campus. We are staffed with ex-military, criminal justice majors, police officers, and other well-trained employees.
Greek Life We have one sorority on campus and one fraternity. Both groups are very active in student life and offer a great experience to build relationships, take part in anthropology projects, and be leaders in the school.
Clubs and Activities We have wide variety of clubs and activities for students to partake in from religious affiliate groups and cultural based groups. We also have public service groups that work in the school-based and town community.
Great for these types of students It is a great institute for all students if you are looking for a smaller university with a great education and amazing opportunities during and after college. The smaller atmosphere allows for students to build connections among each other and teachers. Everyone is very personable and looks out for you and your success.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The SAGE building and Ledwidge ballroom are cool hang out spots for the students to relax after a long day of studies and athletics. The Field house is also open to 10 p.m. allowing students to get into the weight room and gym. A tradition we have is to not step on the school seal located in the ground right outside of the field house. Students also have free admittance to games located at home at our facilities. Go Saints!
Bang for the buck Siena offers many scholarship options and the bang is worth the buck.
What to do for fun The town of Adrian is very small, but in town we have local restaurants and skate rink. We are close to Adrian College that is always putting on events. Our director of Student Activities always have stuff planned on campus for the students to take part in such as; bowling trips, movie nights, Dj's, comedians. We are also very close to two major cities, Ann Arbor and Toledo (30-40 minutes).
Food and Dining We have a full service cafeteria that is open everyday for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The staff there is friendly and the food is very good. We have options for vegetarians and non-meat eaters. We also have the SAGE student union that offers food and snacks after cafe hours. In 2013 we will be having a new union and cafeteria built for students.
Dorm Life Some people do not care for the dorms because they are older, but if you have a great roommate and an awesome R.A. (Resident Assistant) the dorms are a great place to be. There are constantly activities going on for students to partake in and meet new people.
Academic Rigor The classes have been challenging but not anything that I couldn't get through. There are many resources in the library, writing center, math cave, and teachers with flexible hours that are always willing to help.
Tips for prospective students If you are looking for a small university that is very personable and about you, this is the place. The size is usually a turn-off, but the connections and friendships are worth while. Also teachers take the time to get to know their students, making a better learning environment.
In three sentences Siena is a small campus, but a loving atmosphere. The teachers, other students, and staff want nothing but the best for the students attending. It is a great place to build connections that will last a lifetime!

Great for these types of students athletic but serious in studies and non-traditional students.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus be a part of the new football team. when some students have enough to drink they go out in a group for a late night run.
Bang for the buck a very good accredited university. it does have some graduate programs.
What to do for fun you make plenty of friends to go out with when you are at college.
Food and Dining there are many choices of where or what to eat on campus. it is also only a short drive to a lot of restaurants.
Dorm Life there are many students living on campus. you have to learn to be a team player when sharing a room.
Academic Rigor some classes are easier than others but the help is there if you use it.
Tips for prospective students try out a few intro classes if you are not sure of what you want to major in. if you can not find the book you need at the book store search online.
