Savannah State University Campus Life

Food has it's good and bad days. Make sure to stock up on snacks and a lot of water (it get's very hot and muggy on campus!!!!!).

After eating the same food every day it gets tiring. Some days it’s pretty good but most days I didn’t feel like walking to the caf.

There is a good variety of places to get food around campus. With so many places to choose from, it gives you the opportunity to eat healthy.

SSU has certain meal plans and a variety of places to eat from so consuming food shouldn't be a problem.

It has pretty good food, but is very repetitive.

The café is the best place to eat on campus. The U or union is good too but you will get tired of eating fast food.

If you want an all you can eat buffet, we have it. If you want something quick, we got it.

The cafeteria is very diverse. The Student Union is good, but can be very unhealthy. The Tiger Express is convenient for dining with your friends, intimately.

The latest addition to campus is the Student Union, which holds several dining areas: the Chicken Shack, the Austin Grill, the Tiger Deli, Marshside Sunrise, and the Corner Cafe are all popular with the students. Meals are quick, affordable and delicious with the option to sit in the dining area with an amiable and fun musical atmosphere or to carry out your food to your room if you prefer something quieter. There is also the Tiger Diner, which has the feel of an old school 1950s diner, where they serve grilled burgers, milkshakes and put on old fashioned music too! The main dining area is the Tiger Dining Hall in King-Frazier, which serves a variety of meals. They have an awesome salad and sandwich bar and they also have a vegetarian bar!

The Dining Hall food is excellent. There are also a lot of other campus restaurants to go to and I have never had a bad meal. You never have to have the same meal all the time. You have a variety of foods t choose from and enjoy.

Greek life is a big thing on any HBCU, especially at Savannah State. Go to as many stripe and community service events that you can if interested in Greek life.

I wasn’t involved with Greek life but it’s a pretty big deal here.

Decent

they have different fraternities

With this being a HBCU, Greek Life is highly respected by all members of the school. It's really something you have to be in to really understand, but nevertheless it is very open and public. If you are interested that's not a hard problem to solve.

Greek life is very popular on campus. They interact with everyone and always stroll the circle. These people are usually friendly.

I am not in a Sorority at this time but I have been entertaining the idea of becoming part of the Greek Life and I want t become part of one that does good in the community and stresses education before partying.

Here at Savannah State greek life pays a huge role. Each and every Sorority/Fraternity displays their royalty.

I love the Greek Life here. They are involved everywhere. They stand for what they believe. They all are a brotherhood.
