This is/was my first semester returning to college after having my first child. I am 21 and have many things going on in my life right now. The teachers here are really accommodating and have helped me successfully complete this semester. Many students that I've spoken to say that they have been helped out by their teachers when life's problems seem to jump out of no where. I do however need to make more friends or get to know a few of my class mates. I plan on doing this by joining groups and organizations. That should help my experience along.
Read MoreI don't enjoy it very much because I grew up here and it feels like high school all over again. If I wasn't from Sonoma County to begin with, I think I would enjoy it much more because the campus is actually awesome for a junior college, and the people are really nice and laid-back. One thing that I don't really like is that there's two campuses, which can be inconvenient when you have classes on both campuses in the same day.
Read MoreBoth the campus in Santa Rosa and the campus in Petaluma are gorgeous. The Santa Rosa campus has more of a historic feel with the brick buildings. They also have art displayed throughout the campus and a numerous amount of outside spaces to study and enjoy the sunshine. The Petaluma campus has more of a modern feel, and offers students opportunities like individual computers in many of the classrooms.
Read MoreThere is a really good vibe around campus (Santa Rosa campus) and there are plenty of people to meet as well as tons of clubs and sports.
Read MoreThe teachers and students are very friendly and helpful. I have many experiences at the school, but the biggest one was when I was sexually assaulted on my way to the one of the campuses on the bus. I broke down in a bathroom and a staff member calmed me down and helped me out alot! I was a sophomore in high school, so she waited with me until my mom got to the campus and we talked about the experience and counseled me. I dealt with alot of staff members that day and they were all supportive and acted quickly and knew what to do better than I did. Since then, he has not been identified, but my case was taken more seriously when another girl came forward with the same story. The Santa Rosa JC was flexible and supportive and made sure that students in the future were safer and offered me help in the future. Thanks staff members!
