Catholic masses are held in the beautiful hospital Chapel and several Feasts of the Catholic faith are celebrated throughout the year. Employees who wish to pray with their patients are encouraged to do so and the Sisters of the Order of St Francis pray daily for the staff and the patients alike. There is, however, no pressure to be of any certain belief system or denomination. There is a culture of acceptance and care. The mission of the Sisters is to serve all with the greatest care and love.
Bang for the buck St Francis can provide you not only with an education, but also a wonderful place to work. I have worked 13 of my 22 years of nursing at this facility and am so proud to be both a student and an employee here. There are nurse externships in multiple specialty areas and jobs as a Patient Care Tech are usually available. The opportunities and experience you can get from working at St Francis are incredible. There is always room for advancement and change. There are often opportunities to get tuition waivers in exchange for time worked for the facility. Many new nurses come down from the Chicago area to work here because St Francis is very welcoming to new grad nurses.

Food and Dining There is no cafeteria in the dorm, but the hospital cafeteria is just a short walk away. There are tons of different restaurants in Peoria. There is a full kitchen on the ground level of the dorm for student use.
Dorm Life The dormatory is an old, but very well maintained, building, rich in history. The rooms are typical size for dorm rooms, but each has their own sink in the room. The living quarters are in the same building as the classrooms, making it ideal in inclement weather; you don't even have to go outside! The Medical Center is right next to the dorm, so going to clinical requires just a short walk outside. The student body is close knit and study buddies are just a door away.
Academic Rigor Having graduated from this school with my Bachelor's Degree 22 years ago, I can tell you that the undergrad program is well-paced and very thorough. The professors are both knowledgeable and personable.
