Student Responses to Review Topic: Food And Dining

The two dining halls, Cranston Marche and Centre Pointe, differ in quality and hours. CM has better food, but the hours don't suit students who can only eat later. CP is open until late, but the food has sometimes made me or a friend sick. Good thing there's stick tim hortons and Starbucks to eat at for breakfast.

The food options are getting increasingly better. Although a few of the cafeterias have closed or shortened hours, healthier options are becoming more prevalent. Meal plans work out very well, and almost all students use a meal plan of some sort. There are various options for meal plans to accommodate commuters or people who live on campus. Tim Hortons and Starbucks are very popular, and have great seating arrangements for you to sit down and do your homework while hanging out with friends and enjoying a meal. All of the food and dining options are available in the middle of campus, which makes it very convenient to stop quick between classes. Most of the buildings for classes have some sort of small place to stop and grab food if you don't want to leave the building just to race to make it back right before class.

The food is decent but it gets really repetitive. It's hard to switch things up, especially if you're vegetarian/vegan or just a picky eater. You'll find the things you really like, but won't get much variety beyond that. There are coffee/snack cafes in the Science Center, Mason Hall, Thompson Hall McEwen Hall, and Fenton Hall. Cranston Marche is a buffet-style dining hall with a salad bar, brick-oven pizza, pasta station, ice cream bar, and entree station. You can watch as the food is prepared so there's no mystery. The food is a hit and miss here, sometimes it's really excellent and sometimes it's almost inedible. It all depends on your taste. Centre Pointe serves mainly fast food products and also has a smoothie station. The sub station is by far the tastiest and most popular, so you have to come at the right times or the line will be quite a long wait. Right next to it is El Diablo Alzul which is a Mexican grill station. The Tim Horton's has unfortunately cut its hours. Late mornings and right at noon the line gets ridiculously long so don't go there if you're in a hurry to get to class! Starbucks was recently renovated and is an awesome study space.

It is passable for me. There are salad bars, taco areas, fruits, desserts, Italian food area, fried food and various beverages. Every Wednesdays they have burgers. The menu changes slightly every day, but it is easy to get bored.

There is a huge variety of food available on campus. From Starbucks to Tim Horton's, cafes in nearly every academic building, Cranston Marche and Centre Point, I have an incredibly hard time choosing! There is always a place open on campus, so if you're craving a cheeseburger at 11pm, you can get it!

The food here is pretty good actually. The buffet style dining hall has wonderful food that can help cure you home sickness. We also have a Tim Horton's and Starbucks on campus as well as a convenience store packed with tons of yummies, and cafes in almost every building.

There are cafes in almost every academic building. We also have a tim hortons and a starbucks on campus. There is one all you can eat dining hall and one where you pay for food a la carte. The food is decent tasting, but if you are sick of campus food there are a decent amount of restaurants or fast food places a few minutes from camps.

Calios is a favorite among students and they deliver very late into the night when you've lost track of time working and campus stores have closed. Campus food isn't bad, although the C-Store is very high priced and I recommend other options to save your points/funds.

Being a current member of the Greek life at Fredonia here, I feel it is a smaller, yet very tight knit community. Everyone knows everyone in Greek life whether you want to or not. No matter how social you are.

It seems like everyone is involved in Greek life. If it's your thing, then that's totally fine. Some are known as party groups and are notorious for some really sexist ideologies or behaviors so be WARY of that. There is also a music frat which I don't know a lot about, but seems really neat.

I am not familiar with them, but I am sure that this kind of franternity and sorority do exist. There are honor societies which have Greek names, but they are more GPA-based clubs.

The sororities and fraternities at SUNY Fredonia are tiny subsections of one giant family. They put on incredible events that include the entire campus. They are friendly and always looking to volunteer and help anytime they can.
