Rhodes College Campus Life

We did not get to try out the food but we liked the two different dining options. I am easy to please when it comes to food. It can't be as good as our home cooking but I bet it is not hard to adjust.

The Refectory has an outstanding and modern selection of food. The Lynx offers a more casual, sports pub feel. They are both on campus, and both are sparkling clean.

The food isn't... bad. It's just not usually good either. There are some options that are great, some in between, and some that are terrible - just depends on what you like, I guess.

The food around Memphis is great. Nobody should ever bother eating at a chain restaurant. There are plenty of great local and affordable places scattered throughout Memphis. We have barbeque, vegetarian, homegrown, Asian, Vietnamese, Mexican, Italian, you name it.

Though the food can get repetitive and options are limited, it is better than it could be.

A lot of people complain about the dining options here, but personally it is what I would have expected. Nothing beats a home cooked meal, but hey, at least it is palatable.

The staff is great, but the food provider, Aramark is terrible. I have seen roaches on several occasions.

It's unfortunate but understandable that this little campus has so few dining options. That being said, the ones they have are relatively nice. The Catherine Burrow Refectory (the Rat) is the buffet-like dining option that most students prefer. What's really nice is that it is newly renovated so it's really nice!

The one part of Rhodes that isn't amazing. It's a hit and miss kind of thing.

Four sororities and six fraternities. There is not many to choose from but everyone in them is nice. Greek parties are open to the whole school after 11 pm.

Greek life on Rhodes campus is huge. You don't have to be in a sorority or a fraternity but the majority of students here are. There are fun parties all of the time and great events that everyone attends. While Greek life here is really prevalent, it is not like the big state schools. Every organization is extremely involved with their philanthropy which is something that is really cool, also because each one is different so you're always helping someone out.

Over half of the entire student population is a part of Greek life! Everywhere you turn you can see girls toting their sorority bags, and guys clad in their frat shirts. Going Greek seems to be a large part of the social scene at Rhodes, but there are plenty more students remain active on campus without pledging.

Greek life is kind of a big deal here. End of story.

Greek Life is a major part of the Rhodes experience with over fifty percent of the student body being involved in Fraternities and Sororities. Students involved in Greek Life have the chance to attend many formals and activities thrown by their house. However, those not wishing to become part of Greek Life need not worry. All house parties are open to each student on campus after a certain time, and there are many other organizations to become apart of on campus.
