PLU seeks to educate students for lives of thoughtful inquiry, service, leadership and careāfor other people, for their communities, and for the earth
When I heard that my fellow high school class mates had 700 student class sizes, I immediately began to appreciate the class sizes here at PLU. Because I am a bit of a shy person, in those large numbers I would have been swallowed up in the classroom. Read MoreEveryone has been very friendly to me so far, and I like the small homey environment yet the fairly large campus. I think that people from all different backgrounds or cultures will be perfectly comfy here and enjoy every moment of it.
Read MoreThe people you will meet here are awesome. Everyone, students and staff, are extremely friendly so it won't take you long to find new friends if that's something you are worried about. However, the school is not located in an area with a lot of things to do, but Seattle is not far away. In addition, there are no big sporting events that draw a large crowd. Attendance to athletic events are probably comparable to what it is like in high school, but those that go are there to root on the Lutes.
Read MorePLU has a very open and accepting community; because of its rather small size, you tend to get to know a decent portion of the school. I have found people that I will be friends with for the rest of my life, I have had multiple amazing opportunities to do what I love and be recognized within my department, and some of my fondest memories are from my three years I have been here.
Read MoreThe campus is something that can't go without being noticed. It is the first thing that grabs you when you step onto the campus and it is truly beautiful. The combination of people that are on campus, personality and value wise, is something that cannot be substituted with anything else; it is truly a great opportunity to get to know different kinds of people as well as yourself. When you walk through the campus you can stop and talk to any random person and have a great and friendly conversation with them. It really is a happy place to be around. Also you never think you'll change, but after a year in college, you go back home to see all of your high school friends and you feel different. It changes you, but for the better. It is nothing less then unique.
