    If you come from the city do not let the small community of Athens effect your decision to come or stay at Ohio University. At first, I was one of those students who wanted to transfer because I could not get used to being in a small country setting. After the first semester when I got closer to my group of friends, learned more about the culture here, and got out of the "I have to be in the city" mindset, I loved it.

    Visit campus and take a tour, talk to your tour guide and ask them about their experiences because they all have great things to say and they will get you a feel of the environment at the school. And don't be afraid to apply to a program you think you might not get into. If you think you want it then go for it.

    Take advantage of all the things OU has to offer. They have so many great internships and free tutors that will explain things way better than some of the professors. It takes a rare breed to do well in school in a town like Athens so remember why you're actually here. Don't take it so seriously you forget to enjoy the town either.
