Seek out others who are already attending. They can show you the ropes, tell you which professors to take and which to avoid.

Take Freshman Orientation with your first semester, so it's not such a drag when you have been at the school for a year or more. Be aware that not all teachers will just love you, but that's a normal thing. Some you just have personality conflicts or they just don't like you for some odd reason. Just do your work and turn it in on time. Also, do not be afraid to approach instructors and talk with them. They are there to help you and they really do love it when you speak with them. You show initiative and pride in yourself and your grade.

Make friends with your advisers and professors, the administration workers and the librarians! You'll probably need their understanding ear during confusing paperwork and finals week. They will help you no matter what, but the quality of your attitude and relationship towards them adds cushion.
