Living in a dorm has a lot of pros and a few cons. Pros: - A five to ten minute walk from all your classes - Easy access to social events -Safety -Already prepared…
depends on the dorm you end up in. letter dorms are the nicest; dortstein is suitable; pei is tiny; and b dorm (where i live) is classic dorm living, with…
If you are not a party-lover, a drinker, a smoker, or the like you may find it hard to find others similar to yourself on campus. The dorm buildings are…
The cleaning staff is always very nice, but with budget cuts, they can no longer afford to clean as often or provide free toilet paper. Pei rooms (for first years)…
Food has improved since my first year there starting in Fall 2016. You have Boar's Head (sandwich shop) and a self-serve cafeteria area with different stations. Options for vegetarians and vegans. Not many options and the flavor isn't great, but the workers there really care and are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet on campus (hence the 3 stars).
Read MoreThe food at the Four Winds Cafe (student run cafe that serves all vegan food and vegetarian food also I think) was not soo great but it was a nice meal, cafeteria food they said is better than before.
Read MoreThe main dining hall has a Boars Head. Bonus!!! And the 4 Winds will not disappoint even if your not vegan/vegetarian.
Read MoreSometimes the food does not look edible. Other times it's just very repetitive (stir fry). But also, the dining hall hours are pretty strict, especially on weekends. Unless you are ordering out, sometimes you will not be eating.
Read More...They are trying to provide different and delicious options. They are -trying-.
Read MoreThere is a student-run Cafe here called Four Winds, along with a cafeteria called Hamilton Center. Some might say the food here isn't the best, but there are opportunities to cook in the dorm kitchens, or go elsewhere for meals.
Read MoreThe hours can be very inconvenient. The food tends to be fairly overpriced for what it is. If you must buy more food money buy it from other students, not from the college! the students give a much better deal on it.
Read MoreDefinitely not going to lie about this. The food here is really rough. It is all industrial bland food made by a company who feeds people in prison. Not to say that it is utterly terrible, but I wouldn't mind it being better. This school is a small school, not too many companies think New College is worth the money. Food might be an issue if you are a picky eater.
Read MoreThe food is pretty bad. But you'll get used to it, and the Four Winds (a student run café) offers fantastic options that are vegan and vegetarian friendly. In addition, students will set up their own café type food options sort of randomly throughout the semester so keep an eye out for those!
