Food and Dining They really stepped it up in the last few years. The make some dang good Rice Krispies.
Dorm Life Such a blast. I loved living on campus.
Academic Rigor You definitely can't slide by doing the bare minimum, but your professors are there to help you succeed.
Tips for prospective students Get involved!
In three sentences There are so many activities and clubs to get involved in! I feel like my courses are challenging me and making me grow as a student and person. I couldn't imagine being anywhere else

Categories Comments Greek Life Willard Sorority is the best! The girls are fun and also understand my crazy theatre rehearsals. I usually have to miss the Monday night meeting because of theatre and the sorority is completely understanding.
Great for these types of students I love going to this school because I met like-minded, liberal people who helped me realize the real me. I believe this school is best for open-minded people who are okay with learning new ideas and ways of life. Being at a liberal arts school, there are different beliefs and ideas on this campus and it is interesting.
What to do for fun I participated in theatre shows my first year and they were so much fun. There are also sporting events, such as football, soccer, baseball, basketball, etc. Theatre and music shows are completely free for students.
Food and Dining The dining hall is good until the second semester where the food starts tasting the same. The food is not horrible, but there are not as many options for vegetarians and especially vegans. I am a vegetarian and sometimes it was very difficult to find palatable foods besides pizza and burgers.
Dorm Life Centennial is the BEST dorm if you are looking to make friends and talk to people. The pods are wonderful for hanging out with people, but not for doing homework because people like to hang out there to talk and watch TV.
Academic Rigor I enjoy my classes and still have to work hard in them.
Tips for prospective students Don't be afraid to be who you are. No one cares! The majority of the time, everyone is super weird, so be yourself.
In three sentences It is a beautiful campus. I love the small class sizes. The community is great.

Greek Life Greek life here at Nebraska Weslyan is phenomenal! Everyone is so incredibly nice, and you get a wide array of people to interact with!
Great for these types of students Nebraska Weslyan is a great school for theater students. There is a wide array of individuals, and so many opportunities to immerse yourself in!
Food and Dining Honestly, the food here is not the best. However, I love being greeted every afternoon by Kyle in the kitchen, who always asks wh always asks why I didn’t get breakfast if I didn’t have it why I didn’t get breakfast I didn’t get it.
Dorm Life The dorm life here at Nebraska Wesleyan, it’s pretty good if you have the right one freshman year. The upperclassman dorms are nice and updated and they will be redoing the other two freshman dorms shortly!
Tips for prospective students As a s as a student from out of state, Nebraska Weslyan students and faculty immediately made me feel like I was home. The environment so welcoming and friendly, and it is so easy to get involved on campus!

Categories Comments Greek Life 3 sororities, 4 fraternities. I was told that basically, if you want to be in a sorority, it's almost guaranteed, given that you go through the entire rush process.
Clubs and Activities Lots to do, and easy to be involved because the students are so close to each other.
Bang for the buck As any private school, Wesleyan is a little more costly than state schools, but definitely worth it for a quality, one-on-one education. Plus room and board is cheaper than the University of Nebraska- Lincoln!
What to do for fun On campus, there are many clubs and activities to get involved in. Personally, I'm looking forward to student government, model UN, and young conservatives! There are also tons of fun things to do in Lincoln, especially the downtown area, as the Haymarket is undergoing some exciting new changes!
Food and Dining One thing I found interesting about the dining hall was that if you're in a hurry, there is an option to basically do a take-out mean... definitely NOT something I've seen or heard of anywhere else.
Dorm Life Many of the dorms are newly renovated or undergoing updates. Plus there is also Greek housing, for those who are interested.
Academic Rigor Although I don't attend yet, I can't wait to do so! Classes seem rigorous and yet still fun, and professors really care about you both as a student and as a person. They really get to know students on a deeper level than professors at larger universities.
Tips for prospective students Tour campus and attend informational events; you'll fall in love with the school!
In three sentences Nebraska Wesleyan is a great school for those planning on pursuing multiple majors/minors in 4 years. I would especially consider this school if you are interested in political science. The Capitol Hill internship program in Washington DC is an incredible opportunity open to Prairie Wolves!

Categories Comments Campus Safety Very safe, security is always around, not that the city isn't safe enough of as is.
Clubs and Activities Tons of clubs to choose from, and they all recruit often. Also, most don't charge dues. Great way to be involved on campus to get the full college experience.
Great for these types of students Students who take their academics seriously but like to have fun as well. Students who are willing to work hard, and take pride in their work will do well here.
Food and Dining It's just average cafeteria food. We do have a decent selection for buffets though. And the grab and go is nice too. Also, there is a coffee house in the student union that serves really good food!
Dorm Life I don't live in a dorm, but all of my friends say that it isn't horrible. A few of the buildings are being remodeled. And there are different options for upper-class students. After freshman year, you're able to live in townhouses or suites, and those are really nice. Very Updated.
Academic Rigor Wesleyan is an academic based school. Students take their class work seriously, and the instructors definitely do too. They are not very lenient when it comes to late work, or not doing it at all. However, if there is a family crisis or some other time of emergency, the faculty and staff are the most caring and understanding people.
Tips for prospective students Go to class!

Categories Comments Campus Safety As a woman, I am never scared of walking alone, and the campus is very strict (without being annoying), on all safety concerning issues.
Greek Life Willard is the best sorority and I'm not even in it.
Clubs and Activities Great opportunities for freshman, each year there is an outdoor fair that allows everyone to look at everything.
Great for these types of students Science Majors, Theatre Majors, and anyone that wants a smaller campus with an active social life while still being a good study school.
Bang for the buck The financial aid is the only reason I can afford this school is the Financial Aid Office, they have been a lifesaver. Many students here are for the theatre department, and the theatre department IS incredible, but with $30,000+/year, I'm not sure how they'll feel about paying their debt 5 years from now.
What to do for fun There's always something happening on campus: Bingo, Life-sized Candy Land, Movie Nights, and LOTS of free food.
Food and Dining It's surprisingly decent when you first get here, but it's mainly the same thing every day and it gets old really fast. (It's called the ROT by many upperclassmen)
Dorm Life I'm living in Pioneer, and have to move to Centennial at semester for them to redo everything. So, it'll be great once everything is done, but the school isn't the best with planning.
Academic Rigor LOVE my classes, they're difficult but not aggravating. Most of my nights are straight-up homework; but on the weekends, I usually finish everything Friday and have no worries Saturday or Sunday.
Tips for prospective students Apply early, work with financial aid they are wonderful, feel free to apply with a low GPA, they will work with you. Also, try to live in Johnson or Pioneer.
In three sentences A small community where you can meet friends, know your teachers, and take great classes. Wesleyan is one of those colleges where you make actual friends as opposed to acquaintances. Wesleyan is where you learn who you are and have a kick-ass time doing it!

Categories Comments Bang for the buck Expensive school but the educational enviroment is worth it.
What to do for fun Raising Canes, plays, concerts, games, intramurral sports, clubs.
Food and Dining The food is awful. Everyone jokes about it. I do think they are getting a new provider next year.
Dorm Life Dorm life is fun. Answer the dorm questionnaire accurately and hope that your roommate does too.
Academic Rigor Academic rigor is very high. Be prepared to study. Teachers challenge everyone.
Tips for prospective students Send in your deposit early so you can have first choice on the dorm you want.
In three sentences Nebraska Wesleyan University is the best school. We have awesome teachers who are here to help you. Class sizes are small and allow teachers to know everyone.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus feels safe, but it is in a neighborhood you would probably want to be aware of walking at night alone. Since there is so much on campus housing though it doesn't feel uncomfortable.
Greek Life There are several Greek houses on campus. All very involved in the community and the college itself. Greeks are pretty low key here; little of that superiority you sense on some campuses. Everyone should try Rush, the experience is fun.
Clubs and Activities There are LOTS of things to participate in and most just require a willingness to be involved.
Great for these types of students People who want to be a part of something that has traditions and a sense of community. Students who want a good education as well as a social life.
Bang for the buck OK... its expensive. But they have adopted a guaranteed graduation in 4 years policy. So if you consider how many people end up going longer than that it works out. Also, as I mentioned there are lots of scholarship opportunities.
What to do for fun There is always something going on around campus. Many athletic events to participate in as well as other groups to be a part of. Like many places you get out of college here what you put into it. If you try you will find lots to do - but you have to try new things to get the full effect of the opportunities.
Food and Dining Its...OK.
Dorm Life Once you get past your freshman year you are able to live in Suites and Apartments on campus. This is such a convenient way to live many people stay on campus their senior year as well. There are many activities for each of the campus living areas. Generally friendly and welcoming to all.
Academic Rigor There are a wide variety of teaching styles on campus and a wide variety of challenging classes. I have experienced a range of difficulty in classes, from just attend...to study a LOT; but that is what college is about.
Tips for prospective students Don't let the private school price scare you away from NWU. There are many scholarship opportunities for you to check out.
In three sentences NWU is a wonderful place to challenge you to grow and learn in and out of the classroom. The small campus gives you many opportunities to meet your instructors and see friendly faces. If you want a college that will become more than a place to attend class, consider NWU.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus safety at Wesleyan is incredible. There's a police station not even a block away from campus, so it's not very uncommon to see the police around. On weekends, police officers will usually walk through the residence halls. Campus security guards are also very adamant about the safety of students, as they check IDs if students are in the buildings, like Lucas Hall, after hours just to make sure that anyone present in the building is allowed to be there. Also, if there are any blips on the radar at the police station that may be a potential risk, Wesleyan will send out e-mails to all students to spread awareness and keep in touch with updates on whether or not if the campus will be on alert. Another wonderful service Wesleyan offers is providing all students with a number that they can call 24/7, whether they're just having car troubles or if they need a safe ride back to campus, Wesleyan will take care of their students to the best of its abilities.
Clubs and Activities Wesleyan has several clubs for any particular hobby or interest that students have or may want to be involved in from student politics to Pride Alliance to Mariokart. Often times, there are campus events put together by Wesleyan, Greek houses, clubs, and sometimes even students. There's always something to do on campus.
Bang for the buck In the Cochrane-Woods Library, Wesleyan has it's own little diamond in the rough. The Cooper Center. If you have a huge essay coming up and you want tips about how to write a thesis, cite your sources, write in a style that you're not familiar with, or maybe just want some feedback, you can set up an appointment and get some fantastic input that will help you along the way to write a dynamite paper.
What to do for fun Theres always something to do on campus, whether you want to stay indoors or go outside to play. In the centennial residence hall, for example, theres a pool table and occasional tournaments, movie nights, makeover parties, theres a group of students that does Zumba on occasion, Killer Bunnies, Cards Against Humanity, and Sardines. Of course, activities may vary from hall to hall, but its not uncommon to see students from other halls mingling in Centennial. Outside, there is a tennis court, a sand volleyball court, a basketball court, and baskets for Frisbee Golf are scattered around campus as well.
Food and Dining Once again, as a commuter, I donât partake in the dining experience on campus, but Iâm well informed on the dining situation on campus. Here at Wesleyan, students are offered 25 meals each week, and often times, students arenât able to eat that often if they tried. There is a main cafeteria, affectionately known as âthe rotâ, which has a very wide selection of meals three times a day. If youâre looking for a quick bite, thereâs the âGrab-n-Goâ, which provides fresh fruit, sandwiches, chips, and muffins for students on the go. But wait, thereâs more! If neither of the aforementioned options are open, Wesleyan also has a small caf© below the rot and around the corner from âGrab-n-Goâ, which offers a daily hot meal, sandwiches, a plethora of beverage options, and sometimes candy. The caf© also has a nice lobby with comfortable furniture for study groups, tables, and on occasion, performances by poets, musicians, and the like.
Dorm Life As a commuter, I personally do not live in the dorms, but whenever Im not in class, I spend a lot of my time in the residence halls. The students are very friendly and have actually kind of adopted me as an honorary resident, as most of them forget that I actually do go home at the end of the day. The dorm rooms are a little small in some residence halls, but they dont give off a claustrophobic feeling. In some halls, the dorms are separated into pods, where students hang out or study, while others have just one large lobby on the lower level.
Academic Rigor The courses are challenging, but professors often times use an approach that students can actually take valuable lessons from and apply them to the community around them. Yes, the studying and workload are sometimes overwhelming, but all of that work really pays off. You leave class feeling like youve actually learned something valuable, and thats one of the best feelings in the world. Of course, the professors will expect a lot from students, but only because they see potential in everyone.
Tips for prospective students The best advice I could give is that students should really take advantage of opportunities to talk to your professor after class. Not only will your professors appreciate that you seem to have a strong interest in the subject matter, but theyll also get to know you on a more personal level, which you can use to your advantage when you need letters of recommendation.
In three sentences I love Wesleyan, because the first time I walked around their small campus, I could feel a strong sense of community, which really made me feel like I belong. The classes are smaller, so you get more of a one-on-one kind of attention from your professors because youre not just a number to them. The classes are challenging, but the professors dont expect a lot from students just to be harsh, they expect so much because they really believe that their students have great potential.

Categories Comments Greek Life I joined a fraternity and have nothing but good things to say about greek life on campus. No matter what fraternity or sorority it is, we all work together.
Clubs and Activities There are many clubs and organizations to join. If there's not one for you, then you either did not look hard enough or you need to form one yourself.
Great for these types of students Great for any type of student!
Bang for the buck NWU is on the pricier side, but they helped me get scholarships. And everything is well worth it. I feel like the teachers and staff know who I am and I don't feel like just another number.
What to do for fun There's plenty to do on and off campus. The campus may be small, but Lincoln has a lot to offer.
Food and Dining The dining hall is awesome. They have a lot of options to pick from and I really enjoy the coffee bar with the grab-n-go snacks.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There are lighted phone receptacles all over campus. In addition, all you have to do is call campus security and they will provide an escort for you any time day or night!
Greek Life Frats and Sororities are available to join. I am a member of Willard - the nation's largest independent sorority.
Clubs and Activities There are too many to name!!!! Each major and minor has a club or organization. If you can't find an intramural activity you're interested in, request it and it will be started.
Great for these types of students Those that don't want a large campus where you get lost. Those that want an overwhelming number of opportunities to participate in. Anyone who wants to be known by name and not a number.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The ghost of Old Main has been featured on many tv shows and news specials. Homecoming is HUGE and fun. As a freshman you walk into the campus as a group under the Arches and when you graduate, you walk back out under the Arches.
Bang for the buck NWU will guarantee that you get a good education in your field of study.
What to do for fun There is a constant stream of activities available. Intramurals of every type imaginable are there for your participation. Plus, NWU is located in the second largest city in Nebraska. So, if you can't find something to do on campus (which is rare) you can find something in Lincoln.
Food and Dining There are many options available.
Dorm Life The powers that be keep updating the dorms and adding new suites and townhouses. Dorm life is a great experience.
Academic Rigor You WILL know how to write a perfect paper when you leave here.
Tips for prospective students Don't let the cost scare you. There are many ways that you can pay for your education at NWU
In three sentences Nebraska Wesleyan is the perfect sized institute of higher learning. The faculty and staff at NWU are very knowledgeable and caring. I am receiving a great education at NWU.

Clubs and Activities SO much potential for involvement (and over involvement).
Great for these types of students Studious, active, and involved.

Bang for the buck Meets all expectations.
What to do for fun Lots to do, and many meaningful experiences.
Food and Dining It has been steadily improving.
Dorm Life Dorm life is adequate.
Academic Rigor NWU is the first place I have felt academically challenged and I know this experience has taught me the skills I need to go far.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you are ready for the commitment, NWU really pulls students in and students who want to go to class and nothing else never go far.
In three sentences Nebraska Wesleyan is overall a great school, and is truly the 'Harvard' of the Great Plains. The staff and faculty are not only knowledgeable, but kind and helpful as well, they truly care about students. Although the student body is not necessarily diverse or friendly you do get a great academic experience that will help any student achieve their dreams.
