The dorms at Muhlenberg are great. The three Freshman dorms are all very different but have their own perks. I lived in Brown, an all-girls dorm that had a few…
Dorm life is amazing. Although freshman dorms (esp. Prosser) aren't the nicest dorms in the country, their so much fun. Its like living in a house with 300 brothers and…
I looked at the dorms for every college I toured and have seen several from visiting friends at other schools. Muhlenberg's is amazing. Rooms considered tiny on campus…
The food here is excellent! And there are so many options!!! There's the dining hall, where there are several stations for you to choose from. Most of the stations have rotating options every day, and some have the same foods every day, and some there are specialties along with the regular menus. And the kosher section is just as good if you only eat kosher! Plenty of students who aren't kosher eat from there and it's amazing! If you're lucky and you visit on a day where the dairy side serves blondies, definitely go and get one, they will change your life! Next is GQ, General's Quarters, which functions as a grab and go option for food. A lot of students come here in between classes if they don't have time to go to the dining hall, or late at night if they're craving a snack (it's open til midnight on school nights and 3 am on weekends). There are also some grocery food options (like milk, cereal, pints of Ben & Jerry's, the essentials) if you need something in an emergency in your room. The next one is Mule Express, which is the ultimate grab-and-go experience. You get on line, get the food being served in a small cardboard container, and you use a swipe. It's fast, and useful, and tons of students go there during lunchtime if they are really pressed for time. The last option is the Life Sports Center cafe, which is colloquially known as the LSC cafe. They serve some healthier options for lunch, and smoothies (!!) which are awesome, but not a lot of students eat there, unless they're passing, in which case they'll probably just get a smoothie. An awesome feature at Muhlenberg is the to-go-containers. Just ask for a Berg to-go card in the beginning of the year, and redeem it for a green container which you can fill with food to your heart's content, and then you can leave and take your container anywhere with you on campus. If you want another one, just give it back at the dining hall, GQ, or LSC cafe, and they'll give you another container, or another card if you don't need a container. So many options here at Muhlenberg, just make sure not to get on the Freshmen Fifteen!
Read MoreApparently one of the top places to eat. They have god food.
Read MoreOur dining hall is nationally ranked, which we often take for granted. As a student-athlete who travels to other schools and experiences their dining as well, I can surely say none of them have been better than the Berg. Of course we still have days when even I, among the most praiseful of our dining hall, think the options are lacking, but those days aren't too often and still always have campus-made pizza, salad bar, burgers, and the deli station. We also use grass-fed, never frozen beef which has left me so spoiled. I'm a foodie I could go on forever. One thing I will end with is that the hours aren't the best. We have one dining hall and it closes at 8 on weekdays and 7 on weekends which is pretty early. But throughout the day it remains open, which isn't true at all schools so that is nice. We also have a few campus restaurants which are also great too and GQ (groceries and fast food) is almost always open.
Read MoreThe food here is amazing, hands down. They have even won awards and contests for their food.
Read MoreAMAZING!! We were actually ranked top 5 in the country I believe this year. While it can get a bit monotonous as far as options, the food is great and easy to access. Much MUCH better than any where else I toured.
Read MoreMy parents love to point out how spoiled I am food-wise, compared to their colleges. But you will get bored of your options eventually, especially if you only eat the pizza. Take advantage of the other stations, the lines never are as long as they look. And try out the Knoshery, but avoid there rice (they make it to dry). For meal plans try to go for one with more dining dollars. You will not use the dining hall as much as you think and will end up with excess swipes.
Read MorePretty good food. Only one dining hall so the food could get a little bland but it is pretty high quality for a college campus.
Read MoreMuhlenberg drastically improved its food quality from when I was a freshman.
Read MoreMy friends from other schools who come to visit rave about the food...it's just that good! My only issue (hence the 4) is that there are only 3 places to eat on campus and after 8, the dining hall and Freshens close so you're stuck with GQ.
Read MoreMuhlenberg redesigned their dining hall within the past year, and has fantastic food with lots of options provided by Sodexo. There's vegetarian, gluten-free, and kosher options. You can also snack at the General's Quarters (GQ) or the LSC cafe at the gym.
Read MoreGreek life here is vibrant! You're not allowed to rush until sophomore year, which I think is awesome, because it gives you a year to adjust to life on campus without your parents and family. We have four, maybe five sororities (never been clear on that), and four fraternities. I'm bad at keeping track, but doesn't matter. If you're in Greek life, it's awesome, but not every student does it, and that's fine! Plenty of students aren't involved in Greek life and they don't suffer socially.
Read MoreI am not a part of greek life here, but it does exist. I think something like 20% of students are involved, so it's not huge, but it holds it's place on campus and most students do go to frat parties at least a few times in their years here. There are only a few options for frats and sororities but we are getting a new one this upcoming year.
Read MoreIt is there if you want it but not overwhelming or a pressure to join.
Read MoreA few greek fraternities on campus. There is no pressure to join them and they are not obnoxious. A very good balance of them between school life and greek life.
Read MorePretty prominent for being about one-fifth of students.
Read MoreI'll be honest, it's OK. There are always things to do on the weekends and it's a great way to meet people. There just aren't many to choose from and about 20% of people on campus participate so there is no pressure to be in one!
