If you don't know what you want out of college and don't want to waste a ton of money at a 4 year uni, I suggest that you choose MCC. We offer both associate and bachelor's degrees, to suit your academic goals. Another option is to start out here and transfer to a 4 year uni (which is what I'm doing). As far as academics, you get out what you put in. MCC has a vast amount of resources to help you succeed but unfortunately a lot of students don't choose to take advantage of them. If you work hard and seek out academic advisement, you'll really thrive at this school. I also suggest joining some type of club or leadership role to help you make connections with professors/advisors/other students.
Read Moreget your applications done early and have all your ducks in a row at least two months in advance. for the student load, they are extremely short staffed in the weeks leading up to the start of a semester. don't expect much help from over the phone either.
Read MoreBe prepared for a good education; you will need to study and work hard to do well even though it is a community college. Also, ask about the 2+2 programs, they greatly increase your chances of acceptance to local schools. Do not expect much as far as social activities are concerned.
Read MoreBe diligent in figuring out what direction career wise you would like to go. Take advantage of all tutoring, advisement and career counseling while at MCC. You don't want to waste any time and money. This is YOUR education!
Read MoreDo your best to not fall behind. once you do it's pretty difficult to catch up. if something is not understood, it's best to get help as soon as possible. Choose your classes wisely and ask about the teachers from current students.
