The food was generally good, and they were on a month-long rotation with various changes. As a vegetarian, weekends were irritating because the vegetarian vegan food would consist of one dish (usually stir fry), a salad bar, pasta, cheese pizza, sandwich, or a veggie burger (all of which are available during the week.) They did, however, do some fun make-your-own bars, such as baked potatoes, lo mein, alfredo, ice cream, etc.

The actual dinning hall food isn't too bad, but the options are limited from day to day. The flex dollar aspect is great. The University has a lot of other places to eat that are really good, and you can use your flex dollars which are part of your meal plan.

Dorms are connected to the main dining hall which makes it easier to get food. There are many varieties in the dining hall. Every day there is a different hot dish, main dish, etc. But if you're not feeling the dining hall, there are many other food courts around campus that you can go to.

I am a part of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority on campus and ever since joining I've never felt more welcomed to the campus as I have from the Greek Community. Mankato is huge on absolutely NO HAZING. They take it very, very seriously and do their absolute best to make sure that all student wanting to go through recruitment are not hesitant to do so. For sororities there are 4 on campus: Alpha Sigma Alpha, Alpha Chi Omega, Gamma Phi Beta and Sigma Sigma Sigma. There are 9 fraternities on campus: Sigma Chi, Sigma Nu, Phi Delta Theta, Phi Kappa Theta, Phi Kappa Psi, Delta Chi, Tau Kappa Epsilon, Lambda Chi Alpha, and Brothers With a Purpose. The Greek community at Mankato is growing rapidly! It would be a fantastic way to immerse yourself within this group of future leaders.
