Long Beach City College is cheap. Most students finish their GEDs in LBCC and then continue their majors in a four-year college.

Most of the universities that I have sought to attend, cost about $35,000-$50,000 per school year, but by attending LBCC for 2-3, I will have been able to save almost $100,000, spending time on my GEs. Some students worry that the standards of a community college are not up to par, but I have had about 10 studious friends that have proved otherwise. They have started from LBCC with me, and have moved on to the University of Hawaii, USC, UCLA, UCSD, and UCD. It does more than save you thousands of dollars, it prepares your mentally for university academics.

My plan after graduating from high school was to go straight to a fancy university where I can finish and get my bachelor degree by the age of 21. With the financial crisis that I personal have it would not be possible for me. Even though the help from financial aids, I would have dropped out of college. I explored my second option to go on to a community college. Long Beach City College has been, by far, helping me putting a little to the side for my personal use in terms of budget. The courses are inexpensive equivalent to university level with half the tuition off.
