Make sure to stay focused on why you are here. The counselors suggest to visit them at least once a semester to ensure that we are on the right track towards our individual goals. Don't be to hard on yourselves, work hard but don't forget to enjoy the college experience. Oh and make sure to apply for the FAFSA, no matter your what your income is, to try to keep as much of your own money in your pocket!

Don't be afraid to get to know your professors. They are just as human as you are. Join clubs and stick around campus; it is a great way to meet some of the many friendly people on campus.

It sounds really lame, but if you can't get a class you want, try waitlisting a morning class. People constantly drop them in the first two weeks, so there's almost always a spot. There have only been two instances where I have not gotten a permission number to add a class I was on the waitlist for, and they were late in the day. ALWAYS READ THE BOOK. Always. And don't forget to do the homework! It will help so much when you're studying for a big test.
