On campus food is ok, but you'll want a few extra dollars each week for a trip to the food carts in Portland. Get an in-room fridge for extras, and bring some cooking utensils so you can make your own food in the dorm kitchens occasionally.

The food is pretty good. There aren't a lot of different places to dine on campus, but the food that is offered is still delicious.

Granted, anyone can get tired of eating dorm food. However, L&C should take pride in how diversely equipped they are to meet the health needs of its wide array of students! Every dish is clearly labeled and warns of any form of allergy. There are numerous vegetarian and vegan options every day, along with dishes that are gluten free. The meals are very accommodating.

The past two years, the food at the Fields Dining Hall has been subpar. It seemed as though the food was prepared by amateurs and something that Gordon Ramsey would not even allow to be served in Hell's Kitchen. However, the few times I have been there this year has been a much better experience. It seems as though they took comments about the quality of the food to heart and are making actual attempts to make it better. I am a bit skeptical of their actual motive though because the catering company that provides the food is on review this year. Regardless, the quality of the food is much better. There is so much variety to choose from for every meal where cereal and ice cream are available all the time.

Bon Appetit does the catering. It's not very good but definitely edible. You'll survive.

There is no greek life on campus, which definitely makes the drinking scene minimal. Parties at L&C are more social and intellectual rather than drunken attempts to get laid.
