Make sure to fill out your FAFSA and apply for scholarships through the JCCC website, almost everybody gets a scholarship of some kind. Also, if you're in any kind of Math, Science, or English class, JCCC offers free tutoring to help any student that needs it. Definitely my favorite aspect of this school.

Search for clubs and other activities to get involved in. JCCC is a large school and you will have to try to get involved yourself or the social life may just pass you by. As for academics, the classes are about average on difficulty level, so study and do your work. If you do, you should do well. Also, order your books and apply for classes early. Some classes fill up quickly, and they offer an early bird discount for people who order their books early.

Put forth effort and don't miss class. Take advantage of the resources that are available to you (counselors, library, help centers). Do not try to overdo your course load. There is no rush, so take the amount of credit hours that you will be able to be successful with.

Definitely apply to go here. It's a great transition from high school. The classes stay small, and the library is amazing. There's a math resource center just for those needing help with math.
